How to transfer ownership of a domain?

If I want to sell some domains, how exactly is the transfer to the buyer done? What are the steps?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Once you receive the payment, this is the time you initiate transfer/push the domain name ownership to your buyer.

Basically, you will create an account (new profile) for you client and give this information (username/password) so he/she manage the domain name.

    Transaction completed.

My registrar (let's just say I am thinking of switching) charges $25 for a "Change Registrant" function; I assume this is the function you mean?

Transfer the domain to enom or another registrar where it's free - better than a $25 charge.

Yeah that's what I was realizing just an hour ago.

    Thanks for the good advice.

Another tip is to put the domain name in as the registrant when you first register it. You then don't have to change it on transfer. Make sure that all the other details are updated though.
