Links from odd addresses - anyone know what these are?

When I check the figures for many of my domains, Awstats indicates that visitors have come to those websites via external links from a small group of sites that I don't recognize.

What is whorush.com all about?

And why am I apparently getting visitors (to my purely English-language sites) from a bunch of Russian addresses, such as otvetnemail.ru and altynsarin.ru?

Whorush is a traffic analyzer site. Someone is "checking you out" or it's bots from the site itself.

are you using wordpress, and if so have you checked out your pinglist? i got blasted one day with 1600 visitors from the EU...all a bot-screwup from a pinging service.

No, these sites are made with XSite Pro. Anyway, not getting a flood of hits, but many of my sites are supposedly getting some visits from links on Russian sites like the ones I mentioned. Weird.
