Country: | Myhosting.com to Godaddy Transfer Questions Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, please move if necessary.. Does anyone know how long it takes to transfer names from Myhosting.com to Godaddy/Moniker? Or does anyone have experience with myhosting.com? Would like to move quite a few domains... Thank you, -Mike C. |

Country: | No dealings with my hosting but typically a transfer will take 5 days AFTER all is approved. In some instances, if you control both accounts you can push manually and faster than the 5 days. |

Country: | Yeah, I control both accounts, just not sure I want to do it manually for security reasons, paid a lot of these particular domains. myhosting seems to be incredibly bad though. You have to email and wait to have DNS changed, you have to email and wait to have privacy removed, you have to email to do basically anything... pretty freakin bad... |

Country: | I agree. I hate registrars that intentionally steal your traffic.

Country: | Lol... instead of just changing everything I requested in the email, they give me information to change the nameservers that just sends me back to a page requesting that I email them to change the nameservers over again... its like they are just trying to delay the situation as long as they can... and to transfer out the domain name to another registrar I have to request the change from the registrar of my choice, then email them and wait to get the auth code... whole process will end up taking me up to like 10 business days... Anyway to tell on Namejet if this is what I am going to have to deal with when I win certain names? 2 days going back and forth with emails just to change name servers, whois privacy and now transfer, literally about 15 emails for each domain and I am still waiting... MyHosting.com must of paid HUGE money to get namejet to send them domains... this is crazy... They literally make it near impossible to change the whois, nameservers or transfer out because they have their parked pages on your domains... Update: Just got off the phone with them, didn't get off til they sent me EVERYTHING in one email... They think they are slick and try to send you information in pieces so you have to keep emailing them and waiting 24hours to get more and more information... so if you have this problem, just get them off the phone and don't get off til you have ALL the info that you need. ::::Crossing my fingers I don't end of up getting any more names on Namejet that they are holding:::: Last edited by zurc.net; 11-03-2009 at 10:45 PM.. Country: | What a bunch of bullshit, I just accessed their control panel and there is NOWHERE to unlock a domain or obtain an authentication code. Emailed them about sending me this info. We'll see how much pain will be needed to leave this dropcatcher for Namejet.

Country: | I recently won a domain on NameJet & received MyHosting login info. When I couldn't figure out how to change the DNS there, I opened a support ticket, and MyHosting.com sent me OpenSRS account info for the domain, which let me make the changes easily.

Country: | Thanks, that's what I figured. It's like Alice in Wonderland of Registrars; everything goes around in a loop: DNS requires support, unlocking option is gone, no WHOIS privacy switch that works. Jesus. I thought it wasn't 2004 anymore with the crappy registrars Pool had.

Took them 2 days to send me the OPENSRS info, then in that account, I couldn't change anything til I called them and they had to make changes as everything was locked. I initiated a transfer to godaddy as soon as I could and I am still waiting for them to confirm the transfer... obviously they aren't going to try and speed up the process so I have to wait the 5 days for it to automatically get accepted. MyHosting.com is the worst.. I am pretty new to buying these drops, especially on namejet as I had only used snapnames before, but is there a way to find out if I am going to end up with myhosting.com if I win a domain, ahead of time?

Country: | Seven (7) emails later, I finally have the Privacy removed and successfully initiated a transfer out. Holy Mother of Jesus. These guys are unbelievable.

I don't see how anyone would voluntarily put any domains their, or have hosting with this company. The customer service and user interface is just pathetic.

Country: | And for the overture....The domain was successfully moved out to Fabulous; at least OpenSRS has a nifty tool to approve the transfer out, just like GoDaddy. So I just got an email from MyHosting support telling me I need to contact ...Fabulous LMAO Not sure if they deserve a response.

Country: | Is this even legal? I mean, they are just an OpenSRS reseller, how the hell do they function as a Registrar that handles Namejet auctioned domains? At least, I'm glad I didn't have to talk to them in Korean.

| Platinum Lifetime Member | Was surprised to get a MyHosting.com (OpenSRS) account opened for me when I won a name at NameJet. Never heard of them but saw they are a Tucows reseller, don't really like Tucows. In the past my NJ names were always either NetSol or Enom... MyHosting.com support was super quick to reply to my email inquiries though, so thats good I guess.
