    Registryweb.com holding my domains hostage

I just tried to unlock my domains at registryweb.com to transfer them to GoDaddy and this is the message I received.

Termination Date Thursday, March 25, 2010
    Invoice Number xxxxxx
    Domain Name xxxxxxxx.com
    Registrant xxxxxxxxxxxx
    Transaction Termination of Domain Contract
    Balance of Fees Owing AU$50.00
    Unlock Domain Name AU$ 0.00
    Transfer Domain Name AU$ 0.00
    TOTAL DUE AU$50.00

I do not owe this company anything. I even reread their fine print and could not find anything about fees for discontinuing their services. They are telling me that I owe them $45 for each domain if I don't renew my domains at their $17.50 renewal rates. Does anybody have any advice? My 4 domains renewal dates are in 10 days.

    I would
    (1) Write and ask them to point out to you where in there terms & conditions it states such payment is due.
    (2) Wait for reply to 1 above and then tell them you will pay it on basis of blackmail .
    (3) Then you can consider your options as to whether to try and get money back.

Personally, nowadays I would simply pay them and in future use a professional bona fide outfit like
Fabulous.com whom I have NEVER EVER had any trouble with at all and really I am astounded
by their service. When a wire transfer went astray they even gave me a large credit on my account
to use in meanwhile before they received the wire. THAT is how good they are.
