Thumbs down Sedo .co auction ....

I admit it, I own a .co, one .co. Now most know I tend to lean toward nice generics and in investing in one .co I made sure it was a nice generic in the finance industry. Anyhooo I see this sedo .co auction coming up and say to myself, looks like a good chance to offer it. I stay very reasonable and ask $2k as a reserve ( hoping it kicks of bidding ) and wait sedo's reply. While I wait I look over their current list and reserves of the " worst " names imo, most have $1k-$4999 as reserves so I start to think I under set my reserve!

Word back from sedo today, name REJECTED

I am not one to rant much but one of two things has occured. Either a sedo employee lacks any real judgement or many outsiders are not being accepted period.

Anyone here have a name accepted to this auction?

    Hi Legendary,

I did not even bother submitting, I own 11 .co's, a few are very nice niche ones, 2 of which I have received offers on, but they are for long term development only.

What did make me laugh though was when you questioned whether "a sedo employee lacks any real judgement"!

I think there is a very logical explanation for the questionable choices of domains: affirmative action.

LOL, as an experience and high dollar seller I know when I am getting the shaft on a name, there is a reason and frankly it may just be ignorance.

Or maybe my reserve was too low, wouldnt make a big portfolio owner happy to see who is auctioning most of their names...hhhmmm

Sedo's appraisers are a joke. I've submitted good generic .coms in the past (that would get offers in the mid $x,xxx range and up from resellers) and they've suggested reserves in the $0-$499 range for their auctions. Are they doing this because they are retarded or is it because they believe we are retarded and that we don't know how much our domains are worth (Sedo obviously wants commission so all they care about is that the reserve is met). I rarely submit names to Sedo auctions any longer as I usually have much more success selling them myself.

Josh, PM me the name and I'll attempt to tell you if the approach failed due to its asking price or not.
