Having read this thread, I have a few things to say...

    1. $1,600 is way too much. That name is worth low $XXX on a good day.

    2. Adding "the" to the name, making it "theorganicsoul.com" does bruise the brand a little bit, but it's not a huge deal. I generally avoid such prefixes as "the", "best", "my", "online", etc.

    3. Don't you think that Jack Canfield could claim copyright on the similarity to his product's name? I was (and probably still should be) a very avid Chicken Soup reader, and I have a feeling that it will be one thing to write stories in a similar manner, but to carry a similar name will be far too much.

Re: OrganicVoice.com is a great name. There are a lot of words you can combine with "organic" to build a great, memorable, brandable name.

It's my advice that you go with one that you can hand-register, so as to avoid paying a premium.

If I were you, I would start out by hand-registering a name that you can use, and start building the blog there, that way, your investment is limited to the cost of the domain.

If traffic picks up, then you can worry about re-branding, or brand-securing by acquiring related domains... but paying a premium price for a domain around an idea you don't even know works yet can be a very costly mistake in the event that the blog doesn't take off.
