    Angry Stolen Domain Name

I'm very upset. A week ago I registered 2 domain names.
There was some type of error in the registration, but my
Credit Card was charged so I thought everything was ok.
I went to check my account and whois 3 days later, and
no domains registered. I got in touch with the registrar.
Now 1 week later, they say one name went through, but
the other did not. I went to check the whois info, and by
golly my other name was registered, but to another
person and another registrar. Any comments or advice. I
know I can't get the name now, but I am soooooo angry!

You could try getting in touch with the person whos details are on whois and then contact the company who you tried to register it through!
Was it a very good name?

Keep me posted on the new url please, interested.
It could be that the registrant thought it was a good name and reg'ed it themselves, i dont know if this happens much.
Has it only just become available?

I don't think it was ever registered. I just checked on it a
week ago, and it was available. I already have dailypayer.
for it. I just liked "instant" better. Bought the website and
domain name together. I still need to work on the re-
design before the site is released, though.

Stargate. There was some kind of script error after I
registered the 2 domain names. It took a week before
all of my support issues were taken care of.

Thanks for the quick feedback regarding the name of registrar. Good luck of reclaiming your domain name. If you need online consultation, visit www.onlinemedialaw.com. Charles might be able to help you regain your domain name. He won the sex.com back to it's original owner.

I'm just read some of his article from his site. Check it out.

And that is why I move all my stargate domains to enom as fast as I can.
    No doubt Rick. Same here.

For that matter - Stargate - Registerfly - and DotRegister/DotRegistrar - are all on my AVOID list.

Awile back, Stargate charged me for names registered , and they left them "live" in the system.

I wouldn't have known they were still live in the system unless I checked after they charged me, which I did.

I immediately used namecheap to reg the names, and asked stargate for a refund.

After that, I used namecheap for all my regs, and highly recommend them.

    Hi,

I'm having same problem but with enom reseller. I regged .net domain an hour ago at powerpipe and it didn't appear in my list.

Also i cannot login on access.enom.com because it sais that there is no such domain and whois.enom.com sais that there is no such domain.

There were no errors during registration. Credit card got billed. I registered other 3 domains earlier today and it was fine. The only difference is that this time i regged only one domain and it was .net instead of .com

About 5 mins ago i mailed sales@powerpipe.com (added order confirmation email in attachment).

    Does this happen often?

Bashing Stargate won't earn you kudos.
It was your fault that you didn't confirm that the domain was registered in the first place.
I've used them since 2001 and I recommend them - and I'm not a newbie in case you wonder.
Stargate's customer service replies even on weekends - beat that, Enom.

I'm not bashing Stargate, just telling what happened. There service
must have gotten better, because there was more than one occassion
where they did not respond to me for over a week. It was not my fault
that the domain was taken. There was a glitch in the system when I
ordered it. I was responded to 3 days later, then not responded to until
the name was taken. I thought the domain was registered to me and
trusted Stargate at the time. As many names as I had registered with
them, they should have cared enough to get on top of the problem
right away, which they didn't. I believe that someone at the company
took the name because it was registered a week later. May have just
been an employee, but it was wrong.

PS: Bashing *Enom* won't earn you kudos :smartass:
You will find many more on this forum are happiest with Enom!

I use Enom too, however they don't have tech support on the weekend.
I've received responses within 60 minutes on weekends from Stargate.

Your closing statement about Stargate is pure bashing. Not that I care, because my statements are not biased like yours.
