Verizon is now pushing their vzw.biz website - sure it forwards to their .com site but I heard them say VZW.BIZ on their commercial and we just saw a TV commercial showing it.
I can't deny that there are some good bargains in that bin.
(BTW - vzw.com goes to Verizon wireless).

As the saying goes, "you either get it or you don't"
Why ruin your branding with an ugly abbreviation under a .biz domain. Everybody knows about Verizon but vzw![]()

Several years ago I noticed that verizon.biz dropped.
From what I remember I emailed them just to be courteous, but the guy in charge of renewing the domains took no action at the time.
They have since regained control of the domain.
It would be a much better choice.
Verizon is hung up way too much on this VZW branding.
Actually, I don't think VZW is all that bad if they actually spent the money to properly brand it. Volkswagen did a good job with VW... I don't think adding a Z in there is much different.
The problem I see is that I don't remember hearing the acronym before reading this thread, so they are doing a poor job getting it out there.
Then again, I watch wrestling (excuse me... sports entertainment) so I might be so used to hearing ECW, that VZW resonates better with me than most.
Are you sure they are PUSHING IT?
Many commercials use similar domains so they can track how many visitors they get through the commercial itself, this is simple logic, and I would do the same. If they'd advertise Verizon.com or VerizonWireless.com, they wouldn't effectively be able to track how well the commercial campaign converts.
If they'd want to PUSH vzw, they'd use vzw.com, which they also own. But they could be running other campaigns for that as well.
