They add this now to all purchases with out your approval, you have to remove it before checkout - they charge your credit card on the 2nd month... I find this very disturbing that they are squeezing this in with out you selecting it, that way if you dont notice it you get billed on 2nd month!
Grrr. Thanks for the warning.

It pays to read what you are placing in your cart.
It pays more to comprehend what you are reading.
There is no secret or anything magical about checking, reading, and comprehending what is in your shopping cart's contents before checking out.
I like GD, but you have to admit there is a lot of upsell trying to happen during a checkout.
I've regged a few domains there lately, and went back to check a few of them but no website tonight listed, and I don't remember unchecking anything during the checkout.
How do you see if you have website tonight?

Well, If I am in the grocery store...and I turn my back...and a store clerk puts a few items in my cart before going to the registrar...I may not always catch it upon paying. I know my 5 year old son does this to me and it pisses me off a little when I find out that I purchased some Gummy bear vitamins for $15.
GoDaddy seems to do the same thing as my 5 year old son.

I think the FTC might have a problem by this.
They're sneaky enough as it is about making default registration longer than 1 year and peppering you with pages full of offers of unnecessary crap, but by adding it to your cart without authorization is a whole other level.

Where do you see this?
I just tried one and see this at the bottom:

WebSite Tonight® Economy

Where you have to click the Add button to add it to your order.
From that page I click Continue To Checkout and get to the Place Order Now page.
Don't see that anywhere.
I see it now. Just used the 99 cent coupon and it was added at checkout. I had to remove it. This might be a future problem for GoDaddy, since the FTC has been cracking down really hard on the rebill and subscription type deals. Not going to be a good look for them. They're going to either learn the hard way or maybe a little industry peer pressure (domain blogs) can out this bad practice.
I saw it aswell while using the 99cent coupon. But like the others said it doesn't hurt to double check what you have in your cart before paying
Now you understand why they have so many coupons![]()

Honestly, I have yet to see it "auto-added" to my cart. I am either renewing, reviewing, adding, deleting, buying, or transferring domains into or out of my account on a daily basis.
Seems like most of you who have seen it are seeing it applied when utilizing a coupon.
This has never happened to me, either. However, the very last thing I look at before clicking to confirm is the price - if it's not what I expect I would know it instantly.
Did you try the infamous coupon ?![]()

No, so maybe that's when it happens.
I do have a small niggle lately, which is that once I've confirmed my order I am brought not to a page thanking me for it, but to one asking me to do a survey about my GoDaddy experience. This leaves me in the position of having to go to my Domain Manager page to check that the domain has been registered to me, which it so far has been.
I certainly wouldn't mind completing a survey, but I would like to have confirmation of my order first.
FALL99 - i didnt see it
Godaddy99 - it was there
