Thanks, I tried the search but it was too broad, but thank you Don.. I really appreciate your efforts
Also my question was more geared to what market would I try to promote the name, if it was some one's name with the (I) or the (e) in front..

.Buying .ca domains pm with pricing, will reply ..., thx

I prefer domains without e/i...but the iReport sale show me this: if you find the right enduser the sky is the limit!![]()
sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn;t///
I like both i and e depending on the word my choice would change.
Patty as for marketing:
I think the marketing to the public is being done by the big boys. like ireport, ipod, iphone and there are smaller idog, icat, iskin products etc etc... and many many more...so im thinking kids are being trained to accept the i/e the e has lost a bit of ground in the current times but just takes a big player to start up a trend... you and me we just Ride the Wave ...
I like both i and e which one depends on the word attached.

Do you mean a persons name with an e or i on the front? I don't think that works well at all. e(Keyword).com is the most valuable and best for one word products or services that can be done electronically.
I see eKeyword.com sales all the time.
the point of linking to old threads is to show the history of the discussion/debate and how the "e and i" prefix has become part of mainstream terminology.
that intergration has led to other letters of the alphabet being utilized in a similiar manner today.
when i look at some the questions being asked here in general, then i can see if some are actually "reading" the forum and what they are getting out of it.
questions that are posed vaguely, where you have to "guess" what they really want to know or are questions being asked just for the sake of a new thread.
how can you tell someone "where to or whom to" market a domain to, when you don't even know the domain?
appraisals for registered names are always acceptable, but by this time, an experienced domainer should already know whether i or e is brandable or makes sense for a term.
especially with all the past discussions, sales and active websites that have those prefixes.
you will never know anything about the future of domains unless you examine the past!
imo...

Hi! i have a boy name that has an (e) in front of it. I was trying to figure out whether I should go after marketing companies or individuals..
for example: ebob.com should that go to big company or small bob?
I like the e prefix when the domain has to do with eCommerce.
I guess if you want to launch a video blog such as eFred.com, that could prove sensible as well.
Good Luck!
A Premium *Product Specific* .Com: SprayTanMachine.com
I don't want to launch it. i want to promote it to a few end users.

It was a brain surgery moment for me at the moment, Don. I was stumped at the time when I had the name presented to me. I was being told to go after big companies because they might like that but I couldn't figure what a big company would want the name for.
I couldn't figure what keywords to put in the software to get the big dogs attention but after a few days, my brain's potholes were filled and I am back to momentarily being once again effective.
Thank you!
HI
I like the 'I' in front of a domain better then the 'E' and it would be one word only that you would put the I or E in front of for best results.
Thx

IMO, it's totally ok for someone to ask a question, even if this has been discussed earlier, and this should not be discouraged. The forum is becoming less active year after year. If I were a mod I would not want to discourage new threads, even if it is something that has been discussed over and over again in the past. People may want to discuss this and they are not going to do that in old threads (I know you guys dont like it when people revive old threads either)

Hi
if you read what the OP was actually looking for then, you may find your comments unnecessary.
the OP was not looking for comments or debates about whether e or i is best or which to use, but where they could market such a domain.
in that regard, the "title of thread does not pose the question properly, to what the OP really wanted to know".
what i do discourage is the creation of meanless threads or threads that ask questions to things that you don't want to know.
if the OP is/was the owner of the domain, then they could have posted the name in the proper forum section, and stated their specific reason for seeking assistance.
pose the questions so that we are able to understand what you seek.
also, directing a member to past threads where they may get some insight to past discussions, some of which involve "trailblazing" members "who no longer post here anymore", may in many cases give them the answers they seek, rather than depending on advice from inexperienced newbs and novices.
finally,no mod action was taken here and my reply was given as member, just like yours and you are in no position to criticize what response, reply or statement i make to any thread posted any where on this forum.
because i am a moderator does not prevent me from giving my viewpoint.
please don't get it twisted!

I never criticized you, talked to you(or about you), and I never even remember replying to any of your posts. I was polite in my post and I was not attacking you. As far as posting, I do have every right to post my opinion about any reply or statement in any thread, anywhere in the forum.
anyway I hope its clear that its nothing personal
