So maybe a "pay to send to auction"is the best policy (apart from a bid) as it will cut the crap out especially entry if the price is high enough, the question is what is the right price of entry ?

Finding an equilibrium between too low so that everyone can put all their garbage names out there and too high so that people with good names are scared off from paying the fee is virtually impossible. We as experienced domainers know what a good name is, and it's opinions like ours that will put only worthy names to auction. Even if the entry fee was $500 - the nutjob that owns some wacky 40 character hyphenated domain name with misspellings and seriously thinks it's worth $100,000,000 would still get that domain name into auction.

I cannot agree as even some of the domains voted on Bido were total crap as many would agree but were probably the best of a bad bunch and i think that there would not be many people if any per year willing to pay $500 for a 40 character hyphenated .com........Bido voting system was a terrible idea imho...

Also as experienced domainers we all disagree on a valuation or a quality of a domain that's whats so difficult about domaining otherwise we would all be millionaires...

The 40 character hyphenated was an exaggerated example.

Re: Bido's voting system - It wasn't demonstrated at its best given the low caliber of names. This is not the case with sedo. I say they should just try it out, because as I said, there's so much business that's waiting to happen at sedo, but isn't. Could be the result of so many names not having a price.

A stated minimum offer + votes to get it to auction + competition from interested buyers, I feel will work wonders to increase Sedo's sales substantially.
