Question What's the Average Monthly Revenue Multiple Now?

If we consider a purely direct-navigation domain (no search traffic beyond searches for domain.tld) that has a monthly revenue of $X from parking. If we're talking about sale of this domain based purely on revenue (no branding potential, no development potential, no asset appreciation potential) - what's the going monthly multiple now? Just a rough estimate would be appreciated.

it's hard to vision a type-in traffic domain not having .... "no branding potential, no development potential, and no asset appreciation potential"

i guess only a TM name would fill that void and depending on the domain and how risky it is, multiples can range 6 months to 10 years.

but that too depends on who the seller is and who the buyer is

though most buyers who post in wanted section typically offer 6 > 24 months

Of course there are potentials, I said the pricing is to based based off direct nav revenue alone.

i guess only a TM name would fill that void and depending on the domain and how risky it is, multiples can range 6 months to 10 years.
Not a TM name, in fact no legal issues at all, not even potentially.

but that too depends on who the seller is and who the buyer is
You mean sellers with higher reps get higher multiples? Do they offer brokerage services so others can get a higher price based on their rep too?

though most buyers who post in wanted section typically offer 6 > 24 months
that's for a TM name? So I suppose a no legal issues name would be significantly more on average?

Based on falling parking revenue, most do not sell on parking revenue models any longer.

    The multiples would be outragous.

    I know that I cetainly don't.

    GREAT ANSWER!

Some names are inherently valuable, parking or not.

Just like you offering limo.ca based on 24 months parking.

    Um, right...

Hmm from what I've seen professional "revenue" portfolios seem to get sold for 36-48 or even longer. Is it because bigger players can afford to wait and don't need to settle for 2 years?

    Easy, 5 years!

Why the math is simple, it isnt a TM name so it is greater than 2-3 years, it has no branding or appreciation value so less than 7-10+.

All that totals 5 years, I can see 6 or more BUT you'd have to really want it.

That answers your question I hope.

Anyone that is still selling on multiples needs to join dnfcollege.com , selling on multiples means you are selling to domainers and that's not anyones target market.

But if you do sell to a domainer, don't expect to get any more than 2-3 year multiples. Domainers, for the most part will want the domain with the opportunity to find the end user you were too lazy to wait or look for.

He wants to know a fair market value, I gave it to him. If he had to sale today, that is the multiple. You can only sale tomorrow based on market values, not wishes and fishes. Could an end user come along, sure but highly unlikely for such a name as described and even if they did how much more could they get.

Different strokes for different folks though, some of us have made millions in the reseller market, if we had to wait for an end user everytime Id be broke lol ....

Right, not talking about selling to end-users here; talking about selling to domainers. So it seems you say the multiple would be 60 while Adam Dicker is saying it's 24-36.
