I have the same big problem that dotnetking and and zillion others while using the domain manager, I do not have the time to waste on their slowness. I am transfering away from them daily now.
I guess the biggest is not always the best, just ask GM

I fully agree but I'll also add in high-risk domains (if you're into TM / typo domains).
60 days is ICANN policy - if a domain is registered or transferred to a registrar it is locked for 60 days (unless it is going to go back to the previous registrar) but I think GoDaddy takes it a little too far - update the information? Locked for 60 days. Change the DNS? Locked for 60 days.
I also find it odd that I sometimes get emails from Domaintools that the registrant information changed on some of my domains , yet it hasn't (everything stays the same). I check my GD account and the domain is still in there - is GD "changing" the information for me?

If a trademark holder contact them asking to lock a domain you own, responsible for the trademark conflict, they charge you $19.95, it happened to us a couple of times before leaving them forever and no way to get a refund ... Obviously, the same policy is automatically applied to all their affiliate registrars.

I have stated my dislike for SlowDaddy before as numerous others have. My main pain is the slowness of there service and the constant promotions that pop up as you attempt to renew a domain, buy a domain, do just about anything. The slowness of the domain manager is a joke.
To further piss off customers they do not attempt to correct problems they are aware of. The site is as slow as ever, there are more promotions/ads popping up. It is the same old business plan that will eventually doom a company. "get new customers, forget about the present ones"
SlowDaddy is spending millions on Super Bowl ads and continuous sales ads, yet their servers are as slow or slower than ever, their service is getting slower and a list of other problems.
Why do they not look after their present customer more, redirect some of their advertising budget back into the company and improve server speed, customer support, etc
I am transferring names away from them daily, maybe if more of us did this they would listen.

GoDaddy I have been using now about for 5 years and if I compare it with other (7) registrars I have been with still, the features to manage domains is impeccable.
Honestly, I am very happy managing my TLDs with them.
But, on the downside, understandably their marketing of the relative products of the items in the shopping cart is a little annoying. It takes good # of clicks of "No, Thanks" , :No, Will check out" , "Suggested Products" etc do takes a longer time in ordering especially when one want to fastly wind up the order.
Their Hosting Panelwith a good and neat interface takes a little longer time especially when more then 50+ domains have been masked / aliased to a single hosting account.
Adding domains to a hosting account is 1 by 1 for the domains not registered with GoDaddy. It is a very basic feature they could have done with , when they have the already existing feature of bulk additon for Goddaddy registered domains.
Also, the graphics in the new interface looks good, but a good bandwidth internet connection is required to get all the features working fine.

Yes, I have heard a lot about TM related issues that is the reason I have kept such domains out of godaddy portfolio and distributed them evenly among local service providers (not kept even in my owned service, being a reseller ) , so my clients are not affected in any way.
Overall, a good, neat, easy-to-use end-user panel makes it a hot choice among domainer like me who has these panelsfor managing huge domains !

This could have happened, no matter what registar, perhaps?
I think no matter what registrar one uses, what matters the most are good habits. Strong passwords, domains Locked, Email address is not a free one like gmail/yahoo, etc.
The real problem is we need more sales, and good domain dev! In the big picture, our choice of registrar is not our most important decision.

GoDaddy never checked the validity of the claim. The individual claimed both domains were stolen from him which I find rather funny because:
1.) One of the domains I've had since 1999... so he waited 10 years to report it? Yeah, right.
2.) The other domain was purchased in a bankruptcy auction, and I had massive amounts of paperwork validating its legitimacy.

your domains are your assets and the registrar is your broker.
