Basically an argument about how investing in .com over the last few years has been a real waste of time and money. Looking forward to the discussion![]()

I think there is room for growth in both .com and ccTLDs.
I'm not convinced that '.com values have fallen' either, I think at some point, some people were paying too much or they didn't invest wisely.
Or let's put it differently, lower average prices doesn't mean the margins can't still be high.
That's what I love in this business: no inventory, moderate maintenance costs, limited risk, high margins
We all know .com is saturated and competition is high. You have to do more research and be smart. Does not mean .com should be ditched from your strategic plan.
BTW I'm selling more .com than any other TLD.
It's true that many (American) domainers have blinders on, and discard ccTLDs. They just never experienced the power of ccTLDs at home.
Problem is when they apply the dotcom thinking to foreign extensions, and register names that don't make sense in the target TLD eg. paydayloan.de, chicagorealestate.co.uk or duisanfrancisco.mx.
Then they should stick to .com
But let's not bury .com too fast
To say that .com is a terrible investment is hyperbole imo.
