Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!O.k it seems to me that the worlds safest registrars have got to be the ones where the domains with controversial sites are hosted like piratebay.org but i dunno who it's registered with ?
Are there any more rock solid registrars where a complaint isn't gonna take your site down like GoDaddy ?
The most secure registrar is Moniker.
Moniker.
Even with controversial (not highly illegal, though) domains.

Please follow the rules or suffer the wrath of Thor's Hammer.
The most secure registrar is your own accreditation of course.
But if someone sues at the jurisdiction of the registry nothing can help you.

Moniker...their legal team is VERY tolerant, trust me. They don't even freeze names most of the time when others would do so. I would keep whatever name you have at Moniker for sure.
I'm buying credit, banking, loan, insurance related generics in .com, .net, .org with high search volumes/traffic. Will consider typos too! - PLEASE PM with name, info, & asking price!
i feel safe with enom, moniker, fab, even netsol

Hey BritshBulldog
I’m gonna jump in, "toot my own horn" and say Moniker. More than just an ICANN accredited registrar, Moniker is the most secure and client service driven registrar in the industry.
Feel free to hit me up directly if you have any additional questions/concerns!
Thanks!
I like the fact that Moniker offers even greater security with its "Portfolio MaxLock". I'm just a little peeved that, after spending about $20K on registrations and renewals at Moniker in the past couple of years, I'm being asked to pony up another $239 a year for this extra security service.

You can file a lawsuit in your own jurisdiction which means you do not need to enforce the ruling. But if the name is challenged by WIPO you have to enforce the ruling as the registrar, even against yourself. Or risk losing your accreditation.

if that were the case, my portfolio would be one giant ice cube.
the irrationality behind any entity reacting to frivilous claims, is not a good business practice.
if any of these registrars have even a "half-way" decent legal department, they would advise against reactionary "disabling" of any domain, without investigation and consultation.
as they could find themselves liable for loss of service, and or income derived from that domain, should it be found that the claims had no validity.
at least that's what the counsel in my brain came up with.

Don, it looks like GoDaddy needs a decent legal department![]()

as a registrar i would say Moniker for sure, their communication is the best also, they are human! unlike other registars
thing is though o/p is mentioning sites, not just domains. well, rules of thumb is you don't use registarrs for Hosting as its crappy and expensive.
in actual fact, you gotta be very careful where you host as theyre the real 'anal' ones
i take it you have seen the latest nightmare with hostgator?
well basically they will take your site down, no questions asked after one frivolous complaint, and im not talking legal emails, one forom an individual. you see what may appear a big form like hostgator.com, they are actually a reseller themeselves and go by the planets set of rules.
you need a private dedicated server . im lucky i have a friend who sorted me out, i have to pay, but its basically a private service where i dont have to worry about crap like hostgator etc
so think thats your best best, being with one of top registrars like moniker or enom and having private hosting
Guy, as you know I was also a big fan of moniker, but if you see what happened to me today with a purchase at snapnames- they just took it from my account and the first I knew of it was when I saw it for sale here, so I would have to say moniker is NOT a secure place for your names at all.
FOR SALE NOW: W-U.com $6k
sorry to hear Chris, thats shocking. maybe a balls up rather than being hacked though. hacking is what scares me , it happens all time at GoDaddy etc
get in touch with bari, you'll see here in this thread , jrzeygirl is her handle i think. she's tops,a moniker rep she'll sort it for you.
I think it is more the safest web host that is at issue vs the safest registrar.
Complaints that typically take a site down are complaints regarding the site and site content.
That would be a Hosting issue (Which I am currently in the market for).
This issue with HostGator (mobility.mobi) and GoDaddy (Sechlist.org) issue comes to mind.
Gingerman-
Please let me know what name you are referring to via PM , if you opened a ticket and the specifics on this. SnapNames does not just take domains from your account without authorization by you or if you failed to renew the name at you registrar and it end up dropping.
Please let me know
