During the sunrise period for .eu domains there was quite a bit of controversy, as a number of high profile names were grabbed by companies that had no legitimate right to them.

I still believed tel domain could have a fast start but after 6 months, no one know.
I was researching .tel earlier and noticed that Lantec had also nabbed cars.tel during sunrise
As usual there will be a bunch of fake sales (jointly owned companies selling to one another in order to create a false sense of a market). Lantec has a history of this kind of activity (using iffy trademarks to get potentially valuable domains in landrushes) though I don't think that Dublin city council ever bothered filing an ADR against Lantec for dublin.eu. In Europe, especially in Ireland and the UK, the .eu is a failure. I'm not sure how .tel will turn out but most mature markets in Europe tend to be ccTLD/.com/adjacent ccTLD. BTW .tel is not a ccTLD.
