Ken, then it's time to dust off that Gibson![]()
Ugggh! There are two types of guitarists... Gibson fans and Fender fans. I happen to be on the Fender side of the fence Theo. Sorry! Fender's, IMHO, have a much warmer and emotional sound and Gibson's have a thinner, more medicinal sound. I have one single Gibson - my grand father gave me... it's an ES185 semi-acoustic made in the 40's. The rest are various acoustics and electrics (Fender being the predominant manufacturer). I am also into the very eclectic, one of a kind type of instruments.
And none of them need to be dusted off!!! For shame...![]()
I am not a guitar player; broke my dad's acoustic guitar when I was fiveSo I probably ruined my music career LOL
You pulled a Pete Townshend on it huh? Not good. I grew up with all sorts of music and art. Mom = Artist, Dad = Musician/Math Teacher. Know how to play piano, guitar, bass, drums, and lots of others! Probably why so many of my domains are music related... Sold monkeymusic.com to a franchise in the UK for several thousand $ a couple years back.
For those of you prefering to get down to business and multitask on domain/website info, I added the stream to webmasterradio as the last item in the songlist on the music player. I'm working on an issue that is preventing the stream from playing again once you click a song and try to play the radio station again... should get that resolved soon.

Some cool updates:
1. New look/feel - similar to the new DNforum look![]()
2. You can now search on domains ENDING in a specific string. VERY COOL! Found a whole bunch of new domains matching mine.... new customers!
3. Set the music player to not auto-play. (Adam said it scared the heck out of him cause his speakers were way up when he opened the site...)
FYI - .org coming soon!

This is a fantastic tool and you have done a great job.
I appreaciate all the work you have put into it.

Thanks for the kind words on the application - I'm glad it's proved useful for other people...![]()
One note on the new "ending with" search - I've found that there is a higher occurance of some keywords appearing at the end of a domain so that results in a higher number of hits... so just be wary of the time it may take to pull the data back. I'm working on the tuning of some specific tables so it shouldn't be an issue in the long term. For example - searching on domains starting with 'music' results in around 59,000 hits and that query comes back in about 15 seconds. But searching on domains ending in 'music' results in 175,000 hits and took about 30 seconds... probably not a major issue but just want to make sure you realize that the more generic the keyword, the longer it's obviously going to take to display the results.
I added a dropdown below the music player that allows you to change the date range for the main chart ... 1 day, 7 days, 30 days... (i'll add 60, 90, 180 as data accumulates). It's interesting to see certain combination changes - sort the percent change column on 30 days and you'll see that e# has dropped 11 percent (significantly... someone must have dropped a bunch of domains) and vd has increased steadily (7 percent). But overall - there has been a 167,000 increase in .com / .net registration over the last 30 days...
Got .org's up and running if anyone is interested...Brings the total to just shy of 100 million domains.
Wow and they said it can't be doneAwesome!
gr8 tool!
thanks!

ZFBot is clearly *the* killer app for domains for 2009!
Scratch that...the total count has topped 100 million! ding ding ding!!!
And just an fyi - I don't yet have the "ends with" active .org domain search working... just the starts with. I'll have the ends with functionality ready tomorrow. Gotta clean up alot of the scripting that is dealing with the zone files...
Great update Ken. I remember when I asked you to add .net & .org to your tool when Theo announced it on his blog. You promised & you did it.
BTW, can you add "contains" additional to "ends with" & "starts with" which will list all domains that contain the searched term anywhere in the domain? that would be really great.![]()
That would probably kill the server this killer app is running on![]()
