Country: | --> Domain Management Tool $5<-- I am selling my Domain Management Tool
It is available for free though exclusive membership at the forum.
Don't worry, if you don't have the $$$ to become an exclusive member, you can now purchase the DMT for only $5.
It is an excel spreadsheet that tracks domains, purchase price, where you bought it, registrar, who you sold it to, revenue, registration dates and expiration dates (you enter all of this information).
In the expiration date column, the field will turn red if the expiration date is fewer than 30 days away. Orange if it is between 30 and 60 days and yellow if it is between 60 and 90 days away.
There is also a "profit" column which calculates how much you've made from the domain (Sale price + Parking revenue - purchase price (including registration fee)). It is red if it is negative, yellow for break even, green for a profit. I've also added three macros:
1) Sort the spreadsheet by domain name in alphabetical order
2) Sort the spreadsheet by expiration date, most current at top
3) Clear the spreadsheet. January 26, 2008 update: * Sort functions are only compatible with Excel versions XP and later. If you'd like to purchase the DMT, please PM me with the email address you would like to have it sent to and send your payment though paypal to: draggar@gmail.com
Please include your username with the payment. 30 exclusive members have downloaded this. If you've downloaded it and use it, please post a review!! This does NOT come with reseller rights. Also, please read and abide by the legal page on the tool if you choose to purchase and use it. Edit for 2-12-08 - "Current Registrar Registration Date" has been changed to "Original Registration Date"
- You can sort by the original registration date (oldest domains at the top).
- You can sort by parking revenue and sale price (highest at top)
- Aesthetic changes (wider rows, easier to read, headers are not as crunched)
Edit for 2-23-08
I've added in 3 columns (B, C, D) for IDN support (as per a couple of requests). I've also set up "groups" so you can expand or contract some areas (parking, IDN, selling, etc..) to make the sheet smaller and more manageable on your monitor (if needed).
I've also shortened the sheet (for performance issues) to 5,000 domains BUT you can have more than one copy on your PC if you need to keep track of more than 5,000 domains. Edit: June 22, 2008:
This sheet will now calculate renewal dates with just a click of a button.
Select the expiration date and click the number of years you want to renew it for! *Edit* Bug found in the latest version (it only ads the number of years from today's date, not the date in the cell) - I am working to fix this. Edit: June 28, 2008: The bug has been fixed, Version 5.12 is the current version.

Country: | This is a great tool and a great value at this price. If you need some spreadsheet to keep track of your domains, and don't want to invest in much higher priced software, this is well worth the five bucks. |

Country: | I've had a few requests for screenshots. Here is a link to one: http://www.draggar.net/stuff/shot.jpg
It is a screenshot of the main part of the spreadsheet (the example row) and the totals row, plus the macro buttons.
It doesn't show the selling section though.
I am also keeping a mailing list of everyone who buys it in case I add more features to it (I'm always open to requests and/or suggestions).
This spreadsheet is 100% created, maintained, and owned by myself, it is 100% original.

the expiration date and the sort on the name does not work either.

Country: | If you're using Excel, a message should have popped up asking about macros, did you enable them?
What version of Excel are you using, also?

Country: | That could be it. I don't know the extent of 97's support of macros. I have an old copy of Office 95, I'll see if I can throw that on a PC to test.
Edit: It's office 97 standard that I have and I got the same error:
"Compile Error:
Named Argument not found"
Then it takes me to the macro / VB editor and highlights the DataOption: command
Let me see if I can find an update that works with this. But, the spreadsheet does work with Office 2000, XP (2003), and I'm pretty sure 2007.

Country: | Cool, thank you for letting us know, cursal.

The porting project is responsible for ensuring the widest platform coverage. Platforms currently supported include Microsoft Windows (98 - Vista), GNU/Linux ("Linux"), Sun Solaris, Mac OS X (under X11), and FreeBSD.
| Flying Dutchman: I just installed Office 97 and I duplicated your issue.
I went to MS's site and downloaded the update to SR-2. That did not help.
I also updated a VB (macro) update from MS, and that did not help either.
I'm going to have to call the spreadsheet only compatible with Excel 2000 and later. My apologies about this, try the free application cursal suggested.

I don't mind and I appreciate people letting me know things like this.

Country: | New version! - "Current Registrar Registration Date" has been changed to "Original Registration Date"
- You can sort by the original registration date (oldest domains at the top).
- You can sort by parking revenue and sale price (highest at top)
- Aesthetic changes (wider rows, easier to read, headers are not as crunched)
I am also working on a big update - integrating revenue reports from parking companies. If I do get this working the price WILL increase. Depending on how much time it will take. People who purchase it at $5 will be able to get the updated versions for free.
To update, just select ROW 4, scroll down to the last row you have a domain on, SHIFT-click the row number (all the rows in between should have selected). Right click and select COPY. Then, go over to the new spreadsheet, select ROW 4, right click and select PASTE.
Some of the rows were moved around between the last version and this version so you may have to do some column moving around, I do apologize and I'll try to keep these to a minimum.
Screen shot of the new header and the example row: http://www.draggar.net/stuff/shot2.jpg
Edit: From now on I am only going to update and develop the 15,000 domain version. Right now unzipped it is about 2MB (blank) and a blank zipped version is about 225K.

Country: | New version 5_02 has been released!!
When you're copying from an older version to a newer on, remember that everything from column B over is 3 columns to the right now, so column B on an older sheet will go to E, column C will go to F and so on.
Due to the amount of work I've put into this I am considering a price increase but I have not reached that decision yet. You can still currently get it for only $5, but this price will not last forever.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Country: | Previous versions did, let me test the newest version.
(I have not tested the new revenue tracker or the expanding rows).
Downloading Open office now, check back in an hour. (Slow download!)
Note: The new version is NOT compatible with Excel 2000 (I don't know what changed that made it incompatible). The sort macros no longer work (and if I take out the line it will not work with Office XP).
Even though I was told it is compatible with Open Office, the macros come up blank (as if there is no VB in the macro for the buttons). Let me see if I can figure it out.
