I review a software product that costs less than $100 and will create unlimited websites full of freely-distributable ezine-type articles. You've seen people selling these sites here - but this software creates them for you.

I was a bit pissed off about this! I read your article, which was very interesting, and I decided to purchase the software. I transfered the $100 over to my PayPal account, which took 3 working days, but then was unpleasently surprised when I went to purchase that the "real" price is actually nearer $120, ($97 for the product, plus $20 tax).
I'm guessing you probably got a "free" copy for plugging it to the rest of us, which is why you didn't know this, but to advertise a product for "less than $100" when the real price is "almost $120" is misleading, and in this case, inconvenient.
I now have to re-assess whether the product is actually worth $120, and either cut my losses, or transfer over another $20 and wait 3 more working days...

I did not get a free copy - I bought the software. Where do you live that would charge such taxes? Is this a UK VAT issue? I was not charged any tax when I bought the program. PayPal may be charging you for a currency conversion??
At any rate - it's probably worth well over $120 if you use it for multiple domains. I've been pleased with it despite the somewhat sleazy way that they advertise.
Please PM me or reply with more information on the "tax" that you were charged.
You were correct, it is based on where you live. I am currently living in France. I went back in to their order system and selected "United States" and it was only $97. If you select "Britain" they add on $16 to the price, and if you select "France" they add $19. Wierd, I guess they just don't like foreigners! ;-)Originally Posted by healingsites
I think I'll just lie and say I'm American. After all, I'm paying by PayPal, and my servers are hosted in the US, so what difference should my physical location make?
Sorry if I sounded like I was blaming you, I was just pissed off that I'd waited 3 days for the funds and then when I went to purchase I didn't have enough.
