Considering "Metal" has multiple meanings, I would say it was a good buy for both parties.

LOL... a lot of uses, not particularly a good thing for a reseller to desire.
No way to know how good a deal it was without knowing who bought it
Great name for a Heavy Metal community...
More value to the music genre I'd have thought - 'metals' would be preferable to brokerage firm etc.

The steel industry has been in the pits for years now, with China producing tons of low quality, cheap steel. Metal sounds more like a brand name versus anything truly metallic. But I have Metallic.org in case you want to start your own steel mill

There is a huge multi-medium multi-metal art jewelry and sculpture industry out there. This domain would be one hell of a bad ass brand for a high quality industrial designer jewelry line. Kinda salivating thinking about that actually, as that was my entry point into domaining.
Was it a good purchase? Who the hell knows... I'll let the buyer and seller decide.

I think it's a great purchase. Check out a tulving dot com for a retail market for gold, silver, metal coins bars. It is very profitable. Great 5-letter type-in name.
In a world of fiat-currency (printing money with no value to the currency), metal has a great future. And the gold bugs will always be there as customers.
Perfect domain name for Metal music. This broad term is the name that is used for this genre. However, I think the domain was either bought by a domainer/domain company or a metal company.
