Re: My new acquisition.....thoughts?

I like it - good design, nice domain, seems like quite a bit of activity. Of course, the buying price is a major factor in determining how much I like your aquisition, but right now it looks like a nice site and a good buy to me...

cheers!

Thanks guys! Let's just say I paid a lot less than what it is worth. It's always nice to run into people that really need money

It's nice to be in a position to take advantage of an opportunity! I'd like to run into a property like that.

Best of luck with it!

Re: My new acquisition.....thoughts?

Now that I said that, I'm curious as to how you came into this opportunity? Were you a patron of the site previously? Was it listed somewhere as being forsale? How did you determine the value so you knew what to pay the guy? (Sorry if I'm out of line with any of these questions - curiosity is getting the best of me...)

Re: My new acquisition.....thoughts?

There are many trade secrets to finding good properties. It isn't as easy as it used to be, but they still do exist. A lot of time it is just persistance. I have already bought sites where the people wanted $10k, for less than $1K, but it took many months of persistance. Things happen in people's lives that change their current situations. Who knows, maybe something would happen tomorrow that would warrant you to sell all your sites and domains for a fraction of their value, just for some emergency cash. Happens all the time.

My best advice is to make connections with people, and then drop them an email from time to time. It never hurts to be persistant, but it also helps to be in the right place at the right time, and to always have some investment cash on hand.

Sometimes the window of opportunity closes quickly, so you have to be ready when it's open
