Nothing is UNLIMITED......Your server from LT that using Savvis BW, i dont see any UMLIMITED server in LT.
Most "unlimited" Hosting plans allow you to use up 10 percent of the cpu max.
I will allow 15-20 percent.
15-20 percent? then u server will only run 5-7 accounts if they use full 15%-20% cpu?
can it handle a full blown mailing list with aproximatly 10 GB traffic per month?
is there root access to install 3rd party software like majordomo or mailman?
Seek... And you shall Find
Hello, seeker. Yes, our servers can handle your full blown mailing list with approx. 10 GB of traffic per month. There is also root access to PERL so you CAN install 3rd party applications.Originally Posted by seeker

Yes, the domain does belong to you.
We just control it because this makes it easier for us and the client.
And if you wanted to cancel our Hosting plan we would then just transfer ownership.
But as long as your account name is under that domain we will control it for you.
I hope that answers your question, Axioma.
what are server specifications that all accounts are placed on.
What, OS, procesor, RAM, and hard drive.
Thanks for replying, edder. Do you have custom plans?. There are many things I don't need and others I could use that aren't present.
Really and truly unlimited? Can I test that theory by using one of your plans as a spool for a newsfeed? A full feed is running around 150Mb/sec at the moment and since it's unlimited disk space I'd like to have 30 days retention on my account (plus redundancy).Originally Posted by edder
Please let me know when my account will be ready.
Note - for those of you that don't know, 150Mb/sec = OC3, and 30 days retention with redundancy would be around 70TB.
I cannot guarantee specific specifications but I can tell you what the minimum specs are for all the Hosting accounts.Originally Posted by slavahosting
Minimum Specs For All servers:
Operating System: RedHat Linux 9.0
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz
Memory: 1GB ECC DDRAM
Connectivity: 100Mbps
Hard drives can be easily added as your sites grow.
Yes, Axioma. We offer custom plans. PM sent. Thanks for your time.Originally Posted by Axioma
If anybody else would like to set up their own custom plan, please PM me if you are interested. I'm sure we can work something out for both sides! Thanks!

seems amazingly cheap actually, do you offer unlimited reseller plans?
I'd love one of those, lol
Your TOS seems a bit vauge for me.
I plan to start a site wher people can download every single Linux Distro available.
This will be gigs and gigs of content. Now if My site used TBs of BW a day this would be considered "normal" usage right for a site of its nature? Or would it not be normal?
Wow, slavahosting. Thanks for the suggestion!Originally Posted by slavahosting
We might consider reseller Hosting plans in the future but for the time being, this hosting plan is still a pretty sweet deal.
You miss my point, I'm not asking for a demo. I'd even give you $1000 per month if you could really do it with an SLA and a performance bond.
What I'm saying is it's not unlimited, because you can't offer something that has no limits or even close to the limits I've asked for. It has to stop somewhere. Simply offering unlimited means you're deceiving your customers before they sign up because you honestly can't offer unlimited anything.
We can offer unlimited transfer/bandwith because our server is unmetered at our datacenter. Our aim is to provide a stable web Hosting environment that doesn't offer the constraint of limits. We don't allow irc scripts, or any other resource draining processes that would cause excessive strain on the server because it's this type of activity that leads to downtime. We run shared servers and sites that transfer extreme amounts would likely use up too much CPU usage and typically require a dedicated server to run properly. Most of our customers never use more than 1% of the CPU, so there really are a lot of resources on the server.Originally Posted by DNGeeks
Kishin, according to the T.O.S., you are okay as long as your content is not "unauthorized copyrighted software." In your case, sharing Linux distros is fine because their owners have already allowed them to be distributed.
