I'm not sure which is worse, sending out names that they haven't registered, or claiming the names they regged and are trying to sell. I'm serious there are a ton of decent names out there that really just dont have tons of value, but dont suck. Its like they go out of their way to find bad names, as like in this forum there are unregged lists with the bulk of the names better than 99% of my spam.

Thankfully at least, while it is awful for our business, just not high on the me list currently.
    Best to all.

I know who this person is, I will let them know about this thread, I don't believe there is any risk of this being a "scam" though.

I think it would be prudent to read this post before you continue on calling someone a "scammer, fraud, cybersquatter", I see no evidence of any of this.

Here's a great post on how people feel when they are mislabeled:

Not sure who these people are, but I think I'll be setting a bounty for finding the real info of the phucksticks that send me spam about domains "about to expire" based on domains I own. Dozens of emails daily, about worthless crap.

    Hi TorontoDomainer,

I guess what it looks like to me is someone is either using broker's or alias's in the emails they send. I disagree that this would be cybersquatting, scamming or fraud.

It very well could be unsolicited email of domain names, but isn't that calling the kettle black? I know that's how many on the forum earn a living, including you. Your whole business is registering "reg-fee domains" and contacting end users. How is this any different?

There could be more to this, but I think you've jumped the gun on accusations just a bit...

My dear friend, please put yourself in my shoes for one minute.

I get contacted multiple times from the same company with multiple identities, Erica, Corey, Eric, etc by email in a 3 month period. On top of that dude tries to sell me domain names he or she doesn't own! After getting tired of the spam emails, I take the initiative and investigate the email address in question.

What do I find? I find multiple addresses, identities being used to register domain names using the same email address.

I didn't jump to conclusion to destroy his or her reputation, what made me angry is that the same individual keeps contacting me using multiple names.... on top of that he has multiple company names registered as listed above..... how would you feel if the same person emails you the same spam using multiple emails and names? does that not raise suspicion?

If I was wrong, than why hasn't this individual come forward to explain why he or she is using multiple identities and emails? and why he is trying to sell domain names he doesn't own ? not to mention the possibilities of the domain names in question could be backordered by more than one person, yet he has listed a price to charge for a domain name that he doesn't own or control!

this thread is basically about spammers

and there are plenty of folks who give advice on how to spam or how to sell names to end-users

both are very similar, in that they are a nuisance to the uninterested receiver of the solicitation

so, if you're sending these type of letters now or ever sent some in the past .... then what goes around comes around.

    imo...

Now explain to me does a spammer have the right to use multiple names?

When a guy from Lithuania sends me an email posing as "Marissa" or whatever asking me to bid on their .me domains, that's fraudulent.

When a guy from Pakistan emails me about a domain they want to sell, signing as "Bill Simmons" when the WHOIS says "Jameel", that's fraudulent.

When Erica, Lisa, Tania, Bobby, etc. are all the same annoying phuckstick of a loser hiding behind a WHOIS shield or even a rogue registrar, that's fraudulent.

Given the opportunity, I'd love to donkey punch such losers for the daily amount of crap they send out.

    Hey CureCancer,

I have some new information for you:

Cory Lemay is not involved or associated in any way with the business and hasn't been for quite some time.

So please remove that information from the post, as its incorrect. CureCancer, let me know if you want/need to contact Cory directly, he does not have access to his account here and may/may not sign up to post here.

Aligned Acquisition was started by Cory in 2004 with some partners and built up a portfolio of over 100K domains and ran the registrar DomainClub.Com
The partnership went sour a year ago and Cory hasn't been involved since. The current owners have not removed Cory's info from the whois.

Cory's a stand-up guy, and had multiple nominations for Favorite Account Manager at Elliot's Blog: http://www.elliotsblog.com/your-favo...t-manager-0396

Although hes more technical in nature then an account manager, its testament to the service he gives the community.
Herein lies the danger of openly calling scammer, fraud ect and posting peoples information without due diligence.
