Same with me. But that's only because of how the price appears relative to the rest of the names.

AIUI, there is no "the" source for summer camps. Parents choose to enrol their kids in them typically off of recommendations from friends and family.

The opportunity to see all camps at a glance, as well as speciality camps that would not ordinarily be in the intelligence which is passed around socially, is bound to draw lots of VERY targeted traffic, which is worth big money compared to "general" traffic.

That said, mid $x,xxx and above is not unheard of for a TBR domain, but it's certainly a rarity for a two-word domain. This one's a winner, though. My only concern in respect to development would be gaining credibility.

One must consider that parents are leaving their kids under somebody else's supervision when they send them to camp. So, that "warm and fuzzy" feeling needs to be present throughout. One broken line of code that makes the site look amateur could be all it takes to make it look amateur and second-rate.

In the right hands, though, it will thrive.

I unfortunately did not land anything this week. I dropped out of the OBA auction at $1,150, and belle at $750. They're great names, but I'm being pitted against competition whom I am incapable out of outlasting. There are several on my list that are available for hand reg now, and depending on what kind of mood I'm in before I head to bed tonight, I might go ahead and register them.

Hopefully we'll have just as good a TBR next week!

From what I've seen, usually the TBR domains don't get listed in DNJournal unless they are huge sales, like Emplois.ca was. Either the registrar, the buyer, or someone else would have to contact Ron Jackson and let him know. If he was contacted by a third party, he'd probably have to confirm it with the registrar or the buyer.

I just posted the TBR sales I know or heard about here in my blog, if anyone knows of any more auction closing prices let me know and I'll add them.

Well, you know, with the divorce rate where it is...

They're below-average keywords, in my opinion. Certainly worth paying the renewal for, but I don't think they're excellent names.

Dating is an excellent industry to be in, but what sort of branding strategy could you see behind this?

"Find your new girlfriend at girlfriend.ca!" is the only thing I can see. And I've found that gender-specific dating sites (for heterosexual dating, that is), do not ever do well, as they do not allow for enough "mingling".

I had a few ideas for the names (especially girlfriend), but all of them would have needed a greater reach than just .ca, so I didn't chase either of them.

boyfriend.ca, when its developed to match a certain niche market is worth huge dollars. Very brandable domain.

Could you picture it coexisting with girlfriend.ca, which was also dropped during the same TBR?

I honestly thought both together would make up for something..It might be worthwhile pursuing it imo.
