Hate to see Canadian Domain Name Services (CDNS) on there. Really slimy business practices...although it has been a few months since I got an "invoice" from them.

I saw a similar list on CIRA website. I emailed to them and asked them about all the registrars absent from the list. Pool.com alone has 100 of them, non of them listed on their site. When I get the answer I will let you all know. I want to know who owns and how many registrars, that's why I want to see the full list, but there is no list like that as far as I know.

I might be wrong, but from my experience over the years I can conclude that most of the Canadian registrars are run like a small mom-and-pop stores. Most of them have pretty old looking and operating websites and domain name management systems. Even if you take BareMetal.com which is one of the best registrars, and operated by very good professionals, look at their site frontend and backend.

Namespro.ca is great and I have talked with and seen and heard good things about CanSpace and Jay @ Ready.ca

a few more good companies, but a lot of those names listed are catching domains for their personal collections...

They cost the same and have the same restrictions but are not allowed to become full operating registrars and can only support TBR services. I think a good idea would be to make some type of guide or table as to what registrars offer what features that are essential to have for any registrar.

Things that come to mind:

Ability to change the domain registrant when transferring a domain, both singular and in bulk
Auto renew
Bulk DNS change

Security issues, like if someone gains access to your email address or registrar account, will they be able to steal your domains? This is now much more crucial with epp as before we had our CIRA username and passwords which were inconvenient but nevertheless offered fabulous security. I actually have not heard of a single .ca domain that was stolen in the pre epp era, i.e over 10 years. That's quite an amazing achievement for CIRA I believe.

Support: email? phone? toll free? How fast?

How intuitive is the user interface?

And they are always for names I have let expire or sold long ago or names in different extensions for names I already own.
And their prices...LOL...just throwing out the net and seeing what fish swim in.

I even search with no specific parameters only for .ca but still comes back blank
