The best I got so far is $9.88, I get a much better price now at GD.

Ya...but GoDaddy for .ca domains is not the best venue. IMO...even if you pay a bit more at NP, it is worth it for the service.

Nothing official, just some anecdotal advice here but I remember calling them a while back asking if they had any coupons or bulk pricing and they said their bulk pricing is usually reserved for registrations of 50 or more names. And I think they might have said it applied to transfers too, but not 100% on that.
And I haven't found any good coupons in a while, other than a $1 off code they had a while back
After 2 days, Namespro finally got back to me and they are about 40 cents higher than GD is for me so I guess they don't want my business.
They know I have thousands of .ca's as they were there before I moved them to GD about 5 years ago.
oh well,

When you have 6K+ domains you should be a CIRA registrar. Then you have friendly pricing. End of the story.

Stupid me, how could I have thought CIRA could be a domainer-friendly registry![]()

Well Adam I'm paying a little more than what they quoted you and I don't mind. Their service is superb compared to the other registrars. Where sibername has failed us both namespro stood up and did the right thing. A good indication of ethics. And I know you were questioning something else on another couple of threads both of which NP handles.
If you look at the size of the .ca market and the number of domains with each .ca registrar it would only take you a second to realize they're not making money on the registration charges.
With that thought in mind I don't mind paying some extra $$$$ every year to help keep them solvent. I don't want to have to go through a registrar failure![]()
$1 can be a huge difference for large-scale domainers. For example we have some clients with 5000+ domain names, and that's a savings of at least $5000 a year every single year.
I do agree that for 50 or so domains it's really not worth the savings and hassle just to save a few bucks... but I don't think there are many registrars that would offer discounted pricing for 50 domains anyway - it's simply not worth it for us either.
And as someone has already mentioned, becoming a registrar yourself is not an option. On top of the fees involved (a good $5-10k to get started), and the time it takes to get approved (at least a year), registrars are strictly prohibited from owning domains for the purposes of resale.

I have used Namespro.ca for a couple years now as my main registrar for .ca domains. They have always been quick to respond to emails and very helpful, if you have a lot of domains just ask for a discount and they will give you one, my current discount is 20% off I think.
InternetShop.ca has a deal going on right now.
$5 OFF new registrations and transfers.
