Announcement of the Strategic Partnership between DNForum & ParkLogic
This strategic partnership has united Adam Dicker (DNForum) and Michael Gilmour (ParkLogic), both of whom are widely acknowledged as leaders and innovators in the domain industry. The long history of friendship and mutual respect between Adam and Michael, combined with the synergies between the two organizations has led to this dynamic partnership.
Through the partnership, DNForum will now be offering members its own branded domain management and monetization platform which takes advantage of the highly advanced ParkLogic systems. The ParkLogic platform is the result of many years of development and will provide DNForum members with increased traffic revenues and tools to manage their portfolios more effectively.
wpid-Adam-Dicker49096.jpg"I've known Michael for a long time and we've always made a point of getting together at the various domain events around the world. It became clear to me that we both thought in a similar manner about domains and the sophistication of the ParkLogic management platform was exactly what DNForum members have been asking for."
Adam Dicker - DNForumMichael-Gilmour.jpg“We are really excited about working alongside Adam who is one of the true experts of the industry. I believe that this partnership is a culmination of experience, like-mindedness and a joint desire to see the domain industry grow and move forward.”
Michael Gilmour - ParkLogic
The domain management platform has been released for those in the DNFCollege and will shortly be rolled-out for the rest of the DNForum membership.

Could you list all of the providers that ParkLogic rotates with?
Let us write your content! ContentWriters.us - See why the top minisite development companies are outsourcing their content writing to us! Over 1 million words written since August! CHEAPER THAN TEXTBROKER.
Although we can't list all of the providers I can say that over the years we have worked with the majority of parking providers. Due to the "law of diminishing returns" earlier this year we culled a number of non-performing companies to minimise the cost of sampling those companies for our clients.
This year we have focused a lot more on integration of non-traditional parking solutions (eg. affiliates) that are closer to the advertiser. This has been proving very worthwhile.
I hope that I answers your question.

This partnership sounds great for DNF and its bottom line. But what does it change? Will parking rates go up?
Parking seems very difficult to make any money, to me.
I, personally don't see much money in parking anymore. Maybe only for premium .com names.
Internet users are becoming more aware of "parked pages" and instead of following the links on the landing page, they go back to the url bar and retype. What i have found more successful is to develop a simple user friendly website with unique content, some articles, and include helpful information. Not only this will be more user friendly, your CTR will skyrocket.
And correct me if i'm wrong, but when you park a domain with any parking provider, you only get partial profit which is undisclosed to you as in a percentage or a CPC. With Adsense, I believe the big G forks out 66% of the CPC.
Indeed, it's interesting there is more and more competition among parking providers while parking pays less and less.
Let's hope it won't be another parkingsite.

Hi,
You've raised some interesting points about domain parking. Here's what ParkLogic does and also what my personal experience has been with domain parking, development etc.
1. Development is NOT a technological problem. It IS a business model and management time problem which means the ROI is potentially very low. The challenge with development is to continue to add content to a domain at an economic price so that it doesn't go stale in the search engines. True development involves building out a business not just adding content to a more sophisticated "parked" page. Building a business is hard work and requires real customers, real services and importantly a real business plan. I've seen many domain owners lose their shirt with development because either they underestimate the cost or they value their time at zero dollars....be very careful.
2. That being said, I also believe that EVERY domain owner should pick one or two domains that they are passionate about and develop them into true online businesses. For example, I love flying (I'm a pilot) and so I built out downwind.com for the piloting community. I now get some great tax breaks on my flying and enjoy a community of like individuals.....while I get paid few dollars in the process.
3. Domain parking is NOT dead. I've been doing it for around 8 years and ParkLogic's clients are enjoying a very sophisticated approach that involves traditional parking, affiliates and in some cases direct advertisers.
4. There is a HUGE lack of transparency in the domain industry.....for many years I've been endeavouring to change the industry in this matter. Check out whizzbangsblog.com or go back through the various domain conferences and you will see that I have been thumping the platform on this issue for a long, long time. At ParkLogic we display what you earn, our commission and your net earnings....nothing is hidden that we can not reveal. Show me any parking company that does this and I'll be more suprised than you!
5. ParkLogic is not a fly-by-night company.....it's actually been around for many years. The reason why most people haven't heard about it is because it was a very closed platform that we've only just opened up. What many people also don't know is that ParkLogic optimised the owners of the Above.com platform before Above existed.....we've been around.
Feel free to ask any other questions.....happy to answer them![]()
