Re: Avoid scammers!!!

Remember, people are not necessarily who they say they are. Please be extra careful of who you deal with! If you notice someone changing contact methods or details with you frequently, or any other activity or behavior that seems strange, then just please be cautious. Beware of anyone who contacts you claiming to be a staff member and immediately tries to get money or material from you in any way. Here are a few of the latest attempts:

Re: Avoid scammers!!!

I think if people are careful enough, scamming through unverfied MSN or email can be noticed instantly and keep the track of the website when u click on a link.

One important thing i would like to add here is never ever use the same password for all your accounts.Because one of my friend who is into this domain business was completely screwed up because he was using the same password for all his accounts.I will explain this how it happened.
Someone (unfortunately nobody was able to track this person)found his yahoo password tracked all his email, all his movements in the internet.Got hold of his complete profile.During one day,he screwed my friend completely.
He changed his paypal password, changed his godaddy password,he had two servers, changed the root password. It was really terrible for my friend. It was like taking his complete identity. The only way was to phone up each and evry one and get back the accounts. These horrible things can be avoided if we are more cautious regarding passwords.

Re: Avoid scammers!!!

In my view we should really avoid scammers because they pollute the healthy domain business. The domain business will be blamed just because of these scammers.

Re: Avoid scammers!!!

Ran into a new (to me) scam yesterday ... got two emails offering to sell me domains I was bidding on at eBay, for my latest bid price ... of course, these guys weren't the real owners! Never accept such an offer.

(I just happened to know that one of these domains was owned by a DNForum member, so it was easy to spot the scam!)

Re: Avoid scammers!!!

Of late there has been several scam attempts on DNForum by some people claiming to be cellphone dealers. But it is also important for such potential scammers to be banned completely from ever registering on this forum!
