Adam,

It's a good decision you taken here.

And start with me if I am badly acting without seeing it.

It's what NamePros is doing SOMETIMES and what DNForum was UNFORTUNATLY not doing (at least since I am a member).

There is a skeleton of domainers, allways the same that are just waitting you post anything to attach you, complaint, ...
I am not surprised one be reluctant on say anything.

I remember having sold an ad campaign to Nick Nolte introducing his domain parking service and how imediately people was bad with Nick, bad with his service, ... Without real reason.
I tried to help him posting myself to defend his service but it did not change a lot.
I do no longer seen Nick post again about his parking service and maybe anything else.
He did not renew his ad campaign.

Well, many members here will now be awaiting the preverbial ominous knock on the door in the middle of the night! (That will of course include myself!)

This though is great news for the forum. It is not worth having members here or on any forum whose sole or even main occupation is to deride or insult others. As has been pointed out above business people have not got the time for that and nobody should have to bother wasting their time and effort in answering spurious posts in an attempt to protect their reputation.

The new 'membership fee structure' will be interesting, although of course I am glad that Adam has decided to 'grandfather' existing memberships, although it may be sensible and prudent to put a 'cap' on the grandfathering period. (Is that ME saying that?)

I look forward to the changes whole heartedly. Now though it is the wait to see if I am one of those to be shown the door before they are implemented!!!

i am half excited half scared it will be exciting to see the new changes like more info about development but but a bit scared too about the new memberships format like will there be any difference between the grandfather memberships with the new ones and the last thing i am scared to say as BILLBO said in the last line

I Have see changes in the Wanted threads so I hope also this changes will also be implemented soon to other sections.

If you ask me, I will ask to apply the law on those members who insult others without reason also in the Sales threads...

I love the fights. Especially when I'm just the spectator. Once when I owned DNF there was this huge fight thread. It was a big attraction for a lot of people.
Something that stood out to me then is that most people totally ignore the fight threads. I noticed during this fight thread other threads kept popping up like Freevideopodcasts.com $180. I envisioned worker ants going about there business building the ant pile, focused and oblivious to anything else going on.
Maybe you should have a forum or thread where people can vent their frustrations. Instead of meet me after school, meet me in the fight thread.

When you own a forum those fights are not always fun to look at.
Especially when you've already planned your day & you have to resolve it.

All sounds great to me. I do enjoy reading the bickering threads when I'm bored, but not enough that they don't pi33 me off when I'm busy and trying to whizz through the threads, and the're no fun if you're the target either I'm sure.

My only real question pertains to the 'as is' forum that has just surfaced for domain sales- what is the logic behind this? I didn't think stats were necessary outside the traffic names forum? Is this area a fixed price or a make offer area? My concern is that it may become an area polluted with 'bad' names, i.e. those that are banned from search engines or have received legal contacts etc, is it just going to be a dumping ground for crappy names?- it just seems to be a little unclear as to what the function of this new sales forum is, or what it brings to the marketplace that doesn't already exist...
Other than that area which I am confused about, the other initiatives sound very exciting! Top stuff!

To me it's an area where I could post a domain like adopted.com or moviecinema.com and say it's as is, no stats, make an offer vased on generic value.

What kind of memberships will we be seeing? recurring payment memberships? The way I take it, exclusive members will not need to worry, but what change will this bring to those who are not yet exclusive members?

Glad to see DCG back on the beat...when Adam used to always be active around here and in chat this forum was always rock n' roll...we all need to keep the good mojo flowing and these changes sound very good imo, and there definitely should be a general debate forum and any threads that take a u-turn should get moved there

Ok, let me clarify the membership point.

All pricing will remain the same for any NEW members but will now be a yearly subscription and not a lifetime membership.

Current members will be unaffected until they want to upgrade at which point I can work out a lifetime upgrade special and kep them at lifetime.
