I love the fights. Especially when I'm just the spectator. Once when I owned DNF there was this huge fight thread. It was a big attraction for a lot of people.
Something that stood out to me then is that most people totally ignore the fight threads. I noticed during this fight thread other threads kept popping up like Freevideopodcasts.com $180. I envisioned worker ants going about there business building the ant pile, focused and oblivious to anything else going on.
| That is so dead on right.
If you think big players are staying away because of fights, I doubt that's it. I think it's because there is too much diversity here, diversity of skill, success, professionalism, maturity, etc. They would rarely be talking with anyone resembling a peer. $300 does not an exclusive member make.
Also, the security issue as pointed out earlier. This is the most well known forum but it's also well known that this forum crawls with spies. |

A Jedi called Bob just PM me saying he substracted me 1 point for a comment in a sale today.
I do not complaint about the punition that I deserve.
Questions:
1) How many points we have before be banned?
2) Where one can see the points we still have available?

Death, Taxes & Change. (& I only look forward to one most days :S)
I appreciate the dedication to continual improvement and upgrades here @ DNF and the direction you are going DCG - kudos! ...and Kudos to all the DNF staff who keep the place Rockin'!
My 2 cents are:
A) I would suggest looking into the issue of members starting threads which get great responses (for ex, in the Domains Wanted Section) yet they never go on to respond to anyone or buy a name or close the thread. Drives me nuts to see those threads resurrected over-n-over-n-over :S * insert beating dead horse emoticon here* While it's fun to see the various names come forth, it's also a let down to not see any replies beyond the initial post. This truly is a waste of time for people.
B) The issue of very misleading thread titles which seemingly are done to lure you into a thread only for you to discover it's an obscure IDN or typo or whatever which Is obviously Not what is stated on the title. Maybe I'm getting old and need glasses and to increase my screen font size - but some are so blatant it's sad really.
C) Blatant 'bumping' of threads. Seems like an increasing practice from what I've seen recently with many people saying because it's allowed in other forums they thought it was allowed here. Like spam, bumping may be here for good but I thought I would mention it.
{Any comments or observations from anyone on the above would be appreciated - have others noticed these things too and like/dislike them?}
re: Banishment from the Kingdom of DNF - I believe we can all have our 'cranky' moments (or at lest I know I do) but certain patterns of behaviour from habitual rule abusers does distract from the overall community feel and lowers confidence in the DNF and overall marketplace, imo.
Optics can be everything and as long as DNF doesn't end up killing me (to my own fault of being a DNF addict) or start Taxing me - Change is good!
Party on Wayne!
PS: Go PENGUINS GOOOOO!!!!!! :-D

Country: | Re: Change is coming soon... Spring Cleaning Time! I don't find it odd or out of place that the moderators want to modify, control, and curb the behavior of members. When those issues involve a vendor, those vendors and it's reps are also members of this forum. Being as such, the same rules should govern their conduct.
And when someone does post blatant lies about someone else, the person making those accusations best be prepared to back it up with facts and figures.
Equally so, that person being accused on a public forum has every right do defend their position and to also back their position up with facts and figures. Is it any surprise that heated discussions get out of control once this takes place?
And using bold text was not only to call the perp's attention to lies, but the other member's attention to those lies.
Nor does another member, vendor or not, have the right to threaten getting someone removed from the forum based on the size of the text or simply because that member disagrees with what is being posted.
I also don't think it is proper for a moderator to intervene at the beckoning of another member to come in and edit text or type simply because that member does not like it.
The posting of incorrect facts and figures is a fabrication. Fabrications will not go without response. And if that response is bold type then so be it.
When considering or defining professional vs. unprofessional conduct, make sure it is a level playing field and those same standards of conduct apply to all...members, vendors, and moderators.

| I would like to add that when one does post a wanted ad, too many people post worthless names in reply and pm, for more then they are worth, just cause they know your budget. Like if I have 1K, it does not mean I will buy reg fee name with that 1k. I want one that is actuly worth 1K. |

-=DCG=- | Now I like that idea. Some of us crazy domainers that have had a sales or other primary biz model rather than traffic ppc actually have some great generic coms or Alts that have never seen a parking page. No traffic stats, but obvious quality nontheless. At some point, traffic can take a back seat to other qualities on price paid.
Might I also suggest a Top Tier forum for sales posts on names that must meet some pre-set stats to qualify? |

How would he be qualified to make such decisions, that could equally easily be biased or flawed? Would the decision be based on personal opinion, group opinion, market trends? Could the applicant re-apply or object to the decision?
Sounds like opening Pandora's box.
