Adam:
Personally (please don't take this as an attack on this thread in general), I believe that you have already done more than enough to keep this site professional. Every other domain name forum I have visited is simply unorganized and worthless. I believe that the paid membership is already a barrier towards so-called "trolls" and other such offenders. I thank you for this. However, I believe that as opposed to what you suggest, you (or DNForum in general) should have a team of people whom will periodically go through random posts on the forum (no need to check each one, too much effort) and keep a list of top "offenders." I have seen this system implemented in the past, and it works very well. The only problem with what you suggest is that, for example and hypothetically, I could PM you the name of any random member.
Just voicing my opinion on the matter, keep up the good work!

More "turnkey" style scripts that can be used to develop a domain would be a very welcome addition (or even an organized list of commercial scripts, like Hotscripts.com, but geared towards domain owners looking to go to the next level).
I was going through my expenses recently, and my top expenditures (besides domain registration costs) are webhosting, legal fees, and accounting. However, I think in the future it would be software costs.

Is there a way to harness the combined link power that we must have amongst our hundreds of thousands of collective domains?
I think you're right. As the trend towards development continues, the effective cost of domain ownership is very likely to increase for those who choose that path instead of simply parking their names.
Fortunately, there is a wide range of development choices ranging from turnkey scripts and templates to full-blown custom web solutions available to domain owners wishing to move in this direction.
It's fine to have opinions, but from this point forward when insults start flying the mods are going to intervene.
A few people have complained that the "big players" never participate here, and after speaking to a few it's apparent that the reason is threads that turn into mud-slinging matches. They don't participate because they don't have time to waste defending their views.
Let's get back to being professional so we can get some business done.
Well, you have to spend money to make money, so I'm not worried about that, as long as the additional revenues exceed the additional costs.
The opportunity exists, though, to create a good catalogue of turnkey solutions, because it's really hard to find good ones. One site that's trying to do that is www.scriptmimic.com but it's still not perfect. e.g. I've been trying to find a good Sudoku game script for ages, but still haven't found it (or, even an arcade script, where all the copyrights for included games are properly secured).

That`s so good!!
An example of bad behavior was the way some members were destroying .mobi threads...

Beachie, I don´t think thats the case here. Why would they care what others think???? They are successful why care?
I think they are afraid, because the lawyers use dnforum as a bad thing in URDP-s. and too many eyes are watching, you can`t take a view.
There have to be made some major changes. Until its public forum it will not change.

I know a few people who don't post here and their reason is the bickering and crap that goes on. People don't want to post because they don't want to deal with the personal insults. Maybe they won't post, but at least we can stop other people from being driven away by a minority.
With forums, in many cases it does change. A cleaned up environment always help bring in the bigger and more professional crowd who will spend their $$$ and spend their time to actually type out some informative and useful posts. And Did I say spend their $$$![]()
But, in all seriousness, I think it's a good idea to become a bit more strict, and to get rid of the ones who are not here to learn, buy, sell and/or contribute in any way shape or form, but to only insult and bash threads whether they're just discussion threads or sales threads.
