Re: DNF Forum Design

smilies serve a purpose, so you can tell the mood in an otherwise cryptic statement.

Re: DNF Forum Design

I was never suggesting we remove them....I was simply making an example to those who think gifts & ribbons should be removed from the Forum, keeping with professionalism.

Re: DNF Forum Design

I still feel little strange with the new skin. I also think I like the old one more...maybe till I get regular with this one?

The old one was more concentrated in certain colors this one seems to have more colors...and its more ´washed´,

The old one had a feeling of more ´serious´ forum...this one is getting more on the way of other forums....

Anyway good luck Adam with the changes...your success will be our also...

I have mentioned this above. Especially without ribbons and gifts...

Re: DNF Forum Design

Why not just remove all modifications and use the vBulleting default skin?

It's more professional instead of removing one feature each week.

Please make the profile page so when you want to change one value you
dont need to add a value for blog, location etc if it is blank.

Re: DNF Forum Design

Well.. The red/blue/grey scheme perhaps isn't the most frequent or popular color scheme. But I think it resembles a business forum very well, instead of giving the user the very regular "this-forum-is-run-by-a-16-year-old-webdesigner"-feeling.

Re: DNF Forum Design

the web designer does not know what he is doing, very bad color coordination.

Wrong. Anybody visiting this site will notice the designer didn't know how to match colors with colors. The mai problem is the top menu, right underneath the header. The yellow and black-grey come out of nowhere, and match nowhere else with the site. Now say, if that goldish color was in the header, or if that color was the gold in the header, the design would definately match a lot better.

The current scheme, not perfect, gives me the sense of:
"this-forum-is-run-by-a-designer-who-can't-match-his-own-clothes-so-grandma-has-to-come-over-and-do-all-the-matching-for-him"-feeling.

Not only that, but I'm also getting this feeling:
"professional-forums-should-have-a-matching-color-scheme".

How bout just
Just frowns ;>)
Seriously maybe some new servers and some more bandwidth or maybe there is a latency issue, but the site loads super slow for me and I am on 30Mbps fiber and all cisco gear so its not on my end. But it is really slow sometimes 10 sec range for the homepage. BTW site looks good just going to take some getting used to. Thanks
