Perhaps there should be a minimum transaction amount $100-$200 or above as not to clog the system and waste resources on $10 transactions

Any idea exectued today is better than an idea on paper that is planned for tomorrow. I do believe if I had a large transaction I would consider using the service. Regarding the fee, perhaps Verified members could be free, just increase the charge for members to become Verified, instead of $5, maybe $20? All other users pay a small fee that would cover your expenses for the time and service provided. As long as the fees are less than Excrow and you offer the better service there will be incentive for people to use it. Please let me know when it's live I'm a supporter. Cheers,
Acro

Expect a roll out of this next week.
For those that don't like the idea, don't use it, please feel free to use Escrow.com or someone similar and pay their fees.

I didnt read every segment of this thread, so let me know if it's in place yet, or if a start date has been set.

Sounds like it would take a lot of man power (and/or woman power lol). I agree with a minimum transaction amount, maybe $500-$1000, to reduce the amount of transactions you'd have to complete. |

Country: | Re: Dnforum.com Escrow Service - Discussion Mode I have done 18 transactions already this year thru escrow.com totaling well over $100,000. I have never, ever, had even a small problem there...but the fees are killing me...
This seems very, very interesting. I hope all the bugs get worked out soon. I have no problem trying it.
I imagine it will be a heck of a lot easier doing dnforum member to member transactions, than it will be to do dnforum member to non-member tho...at least until you become brand name. |

Without taking control of both money and the domain, your process will always be flawed IMO. And to do that without charging anything is not a viable option, as DNF will be incurring fees for accepting and sending payments.
Also, have you considered the legal side of running such a service? Will this escrow service be insured?
Nice idea but personally, I think you're nuts

The last thing I would want is a non domainer selling me a name and finding out there is a forum where he may get a lot more $$$ for his domain.
Kiss that good buy goodbye.
