Perhaps there should be a minimum transaction amount $100-$200 or above as not to clog the system and waste resources on $10 transactions

Note:My posted Sales Prices are valid for 3 Days only
Most my domains listed for sale are available at sedo.com
This is a great idea overall. As with any idea I think you should roll with what you have and fix any issues later. Any idea exectued today is better than an idea on paper that is planned for tomorrow. I do believe if I had a large transaction I would consider using the service. Regarding the fee, perhaps Verified members could be free, just increase the charge for members to become Verified, instead of $5, maybe $20? All other users pay a small fee that would cover your expenses for the time and service provided. As long as the fees are less than Excrow and you offer the better service there will be incentive for people to use it. Please let me know when it's live I'm a supporter. Cheers,
Acro
For the record I have tested it with 3 transactions and all went smooth for all parties.
Expect a roll out of this next week.
For those that don't like the idea, don't use it, please feel free to use Escrow.com or someone similar and pay their fees.

Was skeptical at first, but after reading the thread again and looking at the chart, the DNForum escrow system appears pretty solid.

I'll use it.
I didnt read every segment of this thread, so let me know if it's in place yet, or if a start date has been set.

Wow, just came across this thread for the first time. I'll use it most def. And I thought DNF couldn't get any better..
Sounds like it would take a lot of man power (and/or woman power lol). I agree with a minimum transaction amount, maybe $500-$1000, to reduce the amount of transactions you'd have to complete.
The "confirmation of payment" part is quite risky. What if the seller never confirms payment + runs off with money. You need to hold the money.
Awesome Idea. This would definally benifit from people using paypal.
I have done 18 transactions already this year thru escrow.com totaling well over $100,000. I have never, ever, had even a small problem there...but the fees are killing me...
This seems very, very interesting. I hope all the bugs get worked out soon. I have no problem trying it.
I imagine it will be a heck of a lot easier doing dnforum member to member transactions, than it will be to do dnforum member to non-member tho...at least until you become brand name.
Your escrow process doesn’t protect the buyer.Originally Posted by CS-Admin

What happens if the buyer sends payment but the seller denies receiving it?
Also, at stage F, shouldn't the domain be released to the buyer, not the seller as your chart indicates?![]()

Without taking control of both money and the domain, your process will always be flawed IMO. And to do that without charging anything is not a viable option, as DNF will be incurring fees for accepting and sending payments.
Also, have you considered the legal side of running such a service? Will this escrow service be insured?
Nice idea but personally, I think you're nuts![]()

I think that's an excellent I idea the best part of this is that there's no waiting for getting the domain or the money. Which i think alot of people hate.
An escrow service here will only work for member to member sales.
The last thing I would want is a non domainer selling me a name and finding out there is a forum where he may get a lot more $$$ for his domain.
Kiss that good buy goodbye.
I once thought I was wrong...
But I was mistaken.
Is this DNForum Escrow service now operational. Where's the link?
