Country: | Dnforum and The Philadelphia Eagles? What do we have in common? Going forward this forum will be adding quite a few new features and benefits all aimed at 1 thing. ------>>> Making each and every one of us more profitable this year. This is my only goal as forum owner.
That said, what does Dnforum have in common with the Philadelphia Eagles?
Neither of us will put up with someone that is here and doesn't share the same goals. This is a forum to conduct business.
The Tyrell Owens types will be banned. I will not stand for anything any longer that will take away from the above goal.
All scammers will be banned, once proof is provided and it's clear a scam was involved. No scammers will be unbanned.
This is and will continue to be a community where people that exercise good business ethics will stay a long time and be profitable.
What to do if you have an issue with another member:
1- If you have an issue with someone on the forum, take it up with them. Do not in anyway attempt to pull Dnforum into your dicsussions.
2- If the user does not respond the way you want, go ahead and post the facts in the people to avoid section. Make sure if you post about another dnf member that you can back it up.
Some of you still feel because you paid a membership you can come in here and trash talk me or the forum itself. This will not be tolerated and yes you will get banned for trash talking against me or the forum. It's ok to dislike or even hate me, but keep it to yourself so I can go on about my business and work on making you more $.
Just because I buy a membership to a health club, it doesn't mean I can go in and yell and scream and dictate my own rules and dictate how the fitness club should be run. Try that and see what happens.
Now let's stick to growing the bottom lines for all of us and leave the extra crap out of this forum.

Thank you, I share your sentiments and know DNF will be a better place because of your new "T.O. Rule"

DNF$: 1,954 | Re: Dnforum and The Philadelphia Eagles? What do we have in common? Do health clubs rise the prices of their services so much overnight and without any warning? You've just upped the "avatar change" to a whopping $10 (real) bucks (and then you or your staff closed the thread in which that question was asked) without giving any reason, explanation or warning to your current members. Frankly, I never heard of anyone on the Internet who charges $10 bucks for an avatar change. Of course you can tell me it's none of my business (and it isn't) but the point I am trying to make is that sometimes you should think twice about some of the things and implementations you do, cause it's not what you're doing, but how you're doing it.
I think your intentions are o.k. and with many of them I agree in principle, but the way you go about them, I believe, is rather crude, a bit unsophisticated and somewhat unappropriate (for your own P.R. sake) for someone who purports to be our friend. Or at least that's how it appears from this side of the computer screen.
Finally, domaining is rather tough "business" these days. Most of the members on this forum actually lose money in a course of one year. And even if they make money they are doing that largely independently of this place which means they come here not for the "business" aspect of the forum, but (mostly) for its "community" benefits. They come here to learn, to communicate, to vent, eo exchange ideas, to dream. If you take away that from them only to concentrate on conducting "business" you will lose most of your audience, because it's not the "business" that drives the forum growth, but its "community".

And nobody that I know of deleted the $10 avatar string, I am sure that will be changed.

In any case thanks for reading this impromptu (but honest) feedback of mine, and I wish you the best with your forum renovation plans. Quote: |

Personally, I get tired of all the incivility in daily life and do not want to see it here. I've enjoyed this forum and an glad it's frequented by intelligent, well-meaning people. Try visiting a Yahoo message board sometime and one will see just how low the quality can sink when a forum gets unruly and trash talkers go unregulated.

Kudos on the idea of reinforcing the basic mission of the site.

Ppl have to avoid posting any unnecessary comments to a domain, like something I call domain bashing.
Every domain has some value, even Idonotknowanygooddomains.com If not value to the commentator it still could hold some value to others, and ppl need to respect that instead of kicking it into the ground.
Respect the efforts of your peers. Also when they bag a good name, be happy for them. Keep supporting newbies.
Then again I would suggest a venting space of some kind.
Sasquatch has a point in what he is saying. Most ppl invest money with no return. I think the forum can stick out above it's competitors by really helping people to jumpstart. And this is where a lot comes from the community itself, but could be guided by forum management.
Thumbs up. |
