So far so good, my card hasn't been charged...yet.

Country: | Im sure that some of you found jumpline useful. But for those that no longer use their accounts, or for those that dont have the money to pay a few hundred dollars come october, I suggest you cancel your account. Billing is set as recurring, and they do have your payment information.

Country: | These vps are ok if you are experienced with vps, comfortable with ssh and command line linux, and don't require any special sw installed or configurations.
On the plus side the support is great, on the downside the interface is dog awful, limited in functionality and slow. |

FREE. | Yeah it is pretty funny that you guys are being so picking about "FREE" lol. I already have a hosting company and my own dedicated server cluster using hsphere CP as well as offer dedicated and colocation solution. I really do have true unlimited hosting, who give a Fuq! I signed up to Jumpline and will use this hosting.
I ficken jumped all over this deal faster than your eye can blink. I can tell you that you may not get the top notch support when they are faced with deciding who to help paying customer versus free customer. Common sense you would help the paying customer first. I'm sure when they aren't faced with a huge dilemma for a paying customer they will help you quickly and promptly.
Dip your toe in the water and try it out, dont just jump head first into 3 foot depth water. Slowly migrate a couple of your small less significant sites.
At the very least you can use the hosting for development purpose only. !!WOW!! free, I mean come on guys.
Bit of advice to you domainers who like to link your sites to pass traffic between your sites. It would be better to pass traffic and links between sites that are not on the same IP block.
Think of this as a free IP that you can now set up a directory site or other link website that facilitates a one way links to all your other sites from this new unique IP. ........ just a thought.

Rich | "Free" does not necessarily equal "good".
If hosting is crippled in functionality (because its the free plan) and/or takes twice as long to anything then the value of "free" becomes diminished.
Don't get me wrong, I ran a lot of sites on this hosting for 9 months and the vps performed well, hence why I implied that it wasn't bad if you only need basic functionality and don't mind a clunky control panel |

If you've been in this business long enough you understand that.
If it is free you have no room to complain though, those are the chances you take with free. If you put a successful & profitable site on this free hosting. Quote: |

| Now for me this above would not be acceptable for a paid service, but if the service is free who am I to complain.
Again you get what you pay for. It would be irresponsible to migrate a profitable website to this hosting and risk loss of ROI due to failure. If anyone is that dumb they should close shop now and get out of this business. I don't think there is anyone here in DNfoum that dumb, is there? are they that naive to do this, I should hope not.
That being said, why not take the opportunity to putput around in a new space, and tinker for free.
I personally am going to use this hosting to backlink another unique IP address to all my domain names to improve PR for my sites.

Im sure nothing, it didn't me me anyways. The CC I imagine is still needed for verification or identity purpose and possibly for overages of bandwidth or something like that.
I signed up using one of my maxed out CC with $3 available credit on the CC.
Almost forgot....most definitely will get re billed for renewal. This hosting is only free for 1 year, so the beginning of the second year I would also imagine this card would be billed.

Thank you!
Me, I might not use only because I have burned so many times by companies that take my credit card it makes me nervous.
I would appreciate to continue to hear people's experiences with the company. |

Country: | I'm really liking JumpLine, now that I'm comfortable I setup a handful of my static sites as secondaries to my primary hosting. Had to modify the log files so I could get accurate statistics, however, so far so good.
It's funny reading this thread. You can test these things if you know how, just set them in round-robin DNS for a minor static site or homegrown parking.
If you are monitoring your domains, you'll get notified if things fail and only a percentage of your traffic will get hit. Their buy rate is good for basic virtual private, so you should be only testing anyway.
Best regards,
Justin |
