Donated 3500...not much but I feel terrible for those poor people in New Orleans....It is almost surreal...I don't think I am being at all melodramatic when I say......I hope somehow they can get some form of hope for their future....

Re: Help Hurricane Katrina Victims

That is enough, and thank you, as well as anyone else gave. We had a goal of atleast 50K F$, and now we are abou double that amount, and it amazes me how this community came together to help for this cause. I had an email yesterday, asking this:

Quote:
i donated!!!
And hwy only fot the hurricanes victims and not the iraq vctims(more than 1200 people died in the river???)
please answer me
Me:
Quote:
Not sure what is going on in iraq right now, but we at DNF decided to donate to this cause, and we will use this account, Charity to use for other Charity projects too.

Quote:
ok, so you ar etelling me that you are caring only for americans?
ok
forget it
bye
Me:
Quote:
I did not say that, I said we are for right now, collecting for this project, I think that we should in the futher collect for other projects. My brother is an Iraq vet, but I said I don't know that much whay is going on in Iraq as I don't have cable tv, and could not effort it, so the only news I get in online, and it takes time to read up on all the news online. I did not mean to make it sound like I only cared for Americans, as I care for all people, and if I could, I would help everyone that needs it. But at this time, it is not really posiable, and we have to start somewhere. I was happy that we had met our goal in only the first day. The current donation is $993.65, and some of that was from me, as I donated all the forum dollars I personaly had.
I don't really know what this person was referring too, but, it is not about being American, it is about a human being. If a disaster was happening in any country, I would want to help, not just here in the US. I'm sure we will be able to help other people too, as donations increase.

Sir this is a Hurricane Katrina fund. If you want to create an "Iraq" fund, go ahead. If you want to create a anti-fur-wearing fund, go ahead.

Re: Help Hurricane Katrina Victims

to add to this, I was asked this tonight:

Quote:
what do you think about holding a charity auction with the proceeds going to the fund?
So watch this thread, as we are planning one for next week some time. If you have a domain that you would want to donate to this, let me know, so we can add it to the auction.

Re: Help Hurricane Katrina Victims

it will go to red cross. Some may or may not like red cross, but I think they are the most reliable, as far as charities go. Too many fake ones right now out there.

remember, it's not just new orleans..it's other parts of Louisiana..it's mississippi, alabama, and a part of florida too that were heavily destroyed.
