HUGE DNF $ system changes - DNForum - Domain Sales, Domain Forum, Domain Appraisals, Domain Registrars

DNF $ will no longer be given out for posts.
Users with DNF $ can still trade or sell them members so that they may upgrade.
DNF $ can still be spent on store items.

The DNF Bank will be closed so no more DNF $ can be purchased.

If you want to upgrade you memmebrship, buy the dnf$ from someone who has them while they last.

Issues that brought this on:

1- If people are here to do business, a colorful avatar should not be a motivation to post. Some of these features will be made free by usergroup.

2- Two many people are posting useless junk just to get the dnf$, this will eliminate that.

3- There is about $1500 a month in fraud due to having the dnf$ in place and I get that much in chargebacks per month which is a direct relation of the f$ system and bugs in it.

4- Many people have duplicate accounts and spend there days sending dnf$ back anf forth from one account to another and I can't see any positive benefit of this to the forum. All of which I can track and see yet people think I can't connect the dots. The people with duplicate accounts will be banned.

Seems a too quickly made decision, although it's no major deal. If these are business forums, then games like these aren't really needed

actually behind the dnf$ there is real $, there is a lot of money involved so I have to disagree with you that it's no big deal. Good decision nevertheless, everyone who is here for business will benefit from it

So does that mean I need to dump all my DNF$ as quick as possible? Is there a due date that I will find all my DNF$, some of which I paid for, gone from the system?

you do not need to dump the DNF$ as quickly as possible. Since there will be no more dnf$ purchases from the bank and no more dnf$ incentives for posts, the only way for someone to obtain it is by buying it from someone else. Many people need it for upgrading memberships and once they upgrade, the dnf$ will be absorbed by DNFORUM and never be released again. As time goes by there will be less and less circulating dnf$ and this only means that their value will increase among members

From what I gather, you are in damage-control state if you were to stoop to this extent. There are other methods to stop fraud, etc., in case you didn't review them already.

So this is basically a gradual phasing out of the entire DNF$ concept ? I can understand the issues (chargebacks, etc) surrounding the decision, but I am surprised nonetheless for this about face.

You can never make business assumption on a private forum. What will you do if you log into the system the other month and found the F$ never show up on your profile any more? I'm not questioning any policy changes since it is up to the owners to decide what they like on their forum. But cautiously we need follow. That's why I asked for an exact date so I can plan accordingly.

Those that have dnf$ will reap the benefits of being to sell them.

There is no negative impact to those that have them or those that don't.

They will not be deleted from profiles so you can hang on to them forever if you wish, same as now.

If anything this should just generate a demand for the dnf$ that exist.

I agree with all of this, Good stuff Adam.

If you revise this I'd sugest you not allow membership upgrades with whats left. The whole thing about buying exclusive membership for dimes and quarters doesnt look good from where I'm sitting.

Otherwise what you've done is definately a big step forward.
