Taking offers on 300 domain names List here
Interesting point British, well, if you figure a forum like this is worth more then a million dollars, then each of us has a % value, some more then others, as they post more or sell more domains etc. I can,t imagine what you would be worth Britishor Raider and Acro.... like wow. Anyways, I think Adam should consider us all shareholders and build up the price and split it with each faithful member. A little communism goes a long way in a capitalist democracy gone wrong, us poor, we just keep getting poorer and poorer. Lets elect a new leader and join the bandwagon to wealth. lol
Any offers on these 2 domains, Prairieprovinces.ca/com
Yup looks what happened to myspace as soon as the members started leaving the place slowly but surely is falling to pieces and it wont be the last, this can happen to any website where the content is created by its members.....
I agree you are probably more lenient than most people on this and other boards tbh...
Yes, I was offered a million and turned it down. This just makes me smile.Namepros has never been a threat to DNF, Bodis or no Bodis
You do have a GREAT forum here and I agree with rngrdanny22 in that the paid options here improve the quality of the dnforum - HOWEVER - In addition to that, I think it's your interaction with everyone here that makes it personal and lends to the quality of the forum more than anything. Thank you for that.
Thank you for your kind words. When I said "Namepros has never been a threat to DNF, Bodis or no Bodis" that is not meant to belittle Namepros or Bodis.
I know what the future holds for DNforum and excuse the phrase, it's going to be a F-U-C-K-ing fantastic 2012 for me and for our members!
I have made some deals that will bring in a HUGE amount of buyers with big pockets and that has nothing to do with the sale of Namepros.
Adam
This is not aimed at British Bulldog:
What is never stated and what people don't seem to get is we have FAR more incoming paid members a day than outgoing, I know this because I am the only one that knows the revenue numbers.
Losing 1 person that never posts and just complains does not hurt the forum, it helps it.
People hopefully are here to do business, the rest is bullshit.
People come and go in this industry daily... but the new incoming paid members FAR outweigh any that leave.
I think I have banned very few people, I am not one that believes in banning or even closing threads unless they completely break the rules and are domain theives or spammers.
Running a forum is about customer service, not ego, customer service is the most important thing in any business and an online forum is no different.
So although it may look like once in a while people leave to go to Namepros, they eventually come back.
Most banned members eventually come back under an alias and they behave so we can't find them easily and I never know who they are, but they come back because DNForum is good for their business.

I'm on Raiders side here. I find domaingang to be confusing when actual news is posted, since I'm expecting it to be satirical.
In the reverse, CNN would be taken much less seriously if they made hoax news for the humorous value.
Anybody who's friends with Adam on Facebook will see that I thought it was a rumour, and that this was further confirmed by seeing it on domaingang.
Of course, Theo was nice enough to explain the "100%" label, but it still doesn't make me take the site totally seriously.

Maxwell, should I assume then that when a tag that says "Danger: Live Wire" is posted on a fence you don't take it seriously either?
I'm not going to hold everyone's hand, but the rules are simple.
I would think that whoever was responsible for making the sign and putting it up went to the effort and expenditure of it all for a good reason; to warn passerby of a live wire. Therefore, I would take such a sign seriously.
However, I know the contents of domaingang to be satirical in nature.
As an example, you know I speak English. Thus, if I were to open my mouth, you can expect me to be speaking English, since this is evident from my past behaviours. Same deal with domaingang.

Ok, then next time you do visit DomainGang, keep in mind that the "100%" image is there for the same reason; to warn you that the content is 100% accurate.
What you "expect" to read is another story.
Your sentiments were completely understood, but that's good that you spell it out to make it very clear for everyone just in case. Who has time to bash others when there's too many good things to speak about dnforum, and after all, this thread is about the sale of NamePros to Bodis. ...Hmm... maybe you should start another thread, "Praise DNF!!"
... ok ok .. getting back to the subject...
I did have one question and pardon me if it's already been answered: Any speculation on Bodis's strategy and what their interest in NamePros is?
Confirming the acquisition of Namepros. Good job Acro and DomainGang team on figuring it out.
I disagree with a lot of opinions on Dnforum being better than Namepros, and I disagree with Namepros being better than Dnforum. These are two completely different markets, however there is some overlap. Namepros is home to a lot of beginners in the industry - and that to me is a very prized asset. This is something that Dnforum doesn't have. Namepros also has a lot of webmasters and people that are not there just for domaining. Dnforum has its niche of domainers that have typically more money to spend. And that is great itself too. This is what makes the two forums different.
If you are an advertiser, it depends where you want to market your product. Some advertisers like 1&1 and GoDaddy, I'd assume would work better with the Namepros crowd, and others such as perhaps Bodis.com itself in its current form, might work better with Dnforum crowd.
Surely I will try my best to make Namepros more serious and introduce sections that have good domain names rather than $7 hand registrations. I'll also make sure we continue to attract beginners in the industry as that is the Namepros advantage. It is not all about those that are super successful and have a lot of money to spend. New comers want to learn about domaining too and they have to start somewhere. There's a lot of things to change and improve. And there shouldn't be a reason why the two forums should be judged against one another.
When I started domaining I started on Namepros and soon after got a Dnforum account. I believe at the time there was no age restriction on Dnforum, however, I was making big sales when I was 17 and if the 18+ rule would be put into effect, I'd not be able to use Dnforum - which I think is a mistake. I would not generalize everybody for their age or where they are located. That is Adam's decision and I'm sure it works great for him, but on Namepros we'll continue to keep it open to everyone and try to find ways to attract serious domainers. Afterall, I consider myself serious and when I look at Namepros I can quickly tell what is missing from this equation.
None of these forums are perfect. When I used to buy/sell bigger names, I used both Namepros and Dnforum, and had big buys and sales on both forums pretty equally. Namepros used to have a High Priced section that is now missing. We'll bring it back. We'll bring back a lot of high priced section for those that have more money to spend. We'll relax a lot of the rules that get a lot of members banned.
My final point is, both forums are great and both attract different markets with some overlap. I think any serious domainer would want to advertise their domains on both forums and more. When I was selling large names, I also made a lot of sales on DigitalPoint, *********, and a few others. You want to get the biggest reach you can, and creating a thread is not a lot of work for those that are serious about selling.
Overall I think both forums are very good at what they do and who they attract, and I'm pretty sure none will go away anytime soon.
So let's just all have fun and be happy we have such two great communities to buy and sell domains, make money, and meet new contacts from our cozy bedrooms laying down in our pajamas.![]()
Congrats. I too started out on NamePros and at the time it felt more friendly than the big bad DNF. Ron is a great guy - I take my hat off to him... and Adam has impressed me from the start. Having solid figures like these in charge is important to the success of any forum in my mind.
