My suggestion is that if any text is added to the logo...put it in the hands of the designer.

The right size and fonts are crucial to the design IMO.

Also...since the theme is not red anymore and is a blue shade...maybe the blue instead of red would work as well.

Just sharing my opinion, albeit in a light-hearted fashion. Glad you could find some amusement in my point of view! That pleases me.

I think the logo should utilize a font that features sharp corners for a stronger impact. The logo should convey something like the following: "The members of this domain name forum conduct millions of dollars in business transactions every year." Strong, professional, business-like.

Not "We all like to post messages about URLs and stuff."

That's all I'm saying.

Once again: the logo was designed to be larger. Currently, it suffers beside the *huge* GoDaddy banner. As I also explained, there are several reasons why a logo is designed one way or another, including portability in other formats and display media, such as print and clothing.

As for forums about bunnies and kittens, I have yet to find one.

Golden Bunnies? Is that a forum where retired bunnies can talk about their golden years? Or is the Franklin Mint issuing a new collectible?

I agree it should be bigger however any bigger would add a scroll bar to resolution 1024x768.

I agree we should put up a blue shade logo to match the forum now as well.
Definite text to the logo is a good idea.

Maybe its time to come up with a new slogan?

Not all sites need slogans. Plus, I think it's evident what dnForum is when they come to the site.

I think a quick slogan is not a bad idea at all (and agree that all sites do not need slogans - but am leaning towards one being needed for DNForum)...just should not be a full sentence...something 3-6 words maybe.

The 'm' appears to be snipped at the end because the logo image file (logo.png) is 300 pixels wide, but the style sheet declaration in #header h1 shortens the logo's width by 7 pixels ( width:293px; ).

The image height is also shortened by 6px in the style sheet, but it's not noticeable on the splash page.

I designed a sample logo for DnForum; if DnF likes it I will be happy to give away the psd file to admin. However, not good as Acro; he is master.

Here goes the image link in Blogspot:

Can't the GoDaddy ad be reduced in size? At the moment the logo just looks silly (smaller than the nav bar and almost smaller than the text in the advert iself).

I just changed to 1024x768 (ah, the old days) and it really isn't great - that advert is monstrous compared to everything else - 71% of the entire page's width, no less?

-----------

As for a slogan:

dnforum.com
All your base domains are belong to us.

When / if I hear back from Adam, I'd be happy to incorporate any changes / additions that he decides on.

I'll be happy to design a logo for your own business, per your detailed specifications, timeframe and budget. When that happens, feel free to give Monday morning quarterback instructions

OK. I can see you take your work very, very seriously. Do you have other logo examples I can view? I may take you up on that offer.
