It looks great!
Thank you Adam, for this interactive brainstorming (and no twitter was used in the process!)I think as soon as the forum width issues are ironed out we'll be using a very visually pleasant domain community.

Thanks Theo!
The logo is great!
the front page still contains a diffent logo
have you tried it without outlining?
I guess I'll be the bad guy. The logo colors are fine(maybe add some blue) but the font sucks and its still to small. Also capitalize the first letter it doesn't look right being lowercase.
Things are looking better and better. But I still haven't got my 100,000 dnf$....
Allow me to fill you in.
Logos are not words stuck together. You want to select a font that allows for scaling and variations on different media (large print, small print, biz cards, web, brochures, t-shirts, billboards). You want to use a font that creates a lasting effect without the need of circles, stars or other assorted elements.
Logo design is 80% about typography and 20% about color. Logos that are meant for brands, communities and products rarely have more than 2 complimentary colors; sometimes even just one. Adding blue to red and black (grading to gray) makes it a tricolor; flags are prime examples of tricolors and are not meant for branding.
Font size and case: modern fonts are rounded, of variant boldness (thickness) and when you want to visually separate words you don't have to capitalize. You can use variant bolding e.g. "dn" vs "forum" to achieve that result and be modern and "web 2.0'ish".
Now, I agree to one thing from what you said: the logo is much smaller now than what it was originally. Especially, when placed next to a huge @ss banner, it loses its impact. I'd recommend that it gets bigger and the banner dops down to 468 pixels wide; it's currently at 728 (!) pixels wide.
Banner is a little big...
i miss the old green online indicator

The logo and header will be fixed tomorrow, I like the logo bigger myself.

The new logo is the one at the top on the left ?
I guess you can't complain when it's free but ...
Would have been nice to see something bigger, more detail and perhaps a smaill line of what it stood for tucked below or maybe a catch phrase.
But hey thats just me.
the size is our fault not the designers, it will be adjusted in the am.
The problem is it has to squeeze in beside the large GD banner and 32% of people view the forum in 1024 x 768 so we have to design it at that size.
Otherwise would be easy.
