This won't bail out people with bad domains. Great names always have people looking to buy. If you are struggling now then you will be struggling later as well.

The good thing is that if you have good-to-great names you have better access to the people with deep pockets. It's not a charity event, though. If your names aren't good, or aren't making legitimate revenue from type-ins, then you can rest assured that you will not be bailed out.

Great names can still be had for good prices, and everyone should realize that the high-end names have tremendous upside, while 95 percent of the other names are essentially useless. IReit will be looking for good bargains.....for great names....just like they should.

I am staying put in Toronto for now, I would melt in Houston, Canadians don't get along well when the temperature is 120 F / 49 C

I spend about 2 weeks a month in Houston.

Not that bad, usually around 100. Just grab a coors light, and you will see those rocky mountain commercial with the train and it start snowing and girls dancing.... I guess you have to get a airplane every month? I don't like airplanes.

Good job Adam, I wish you the best of luck at iReit, and I certainly look forward to the benefits to DNForum membership from this announcement. Please keep DNForum strong with good management choices.

I do think the real benefits to the average domainer (liquidity etc) from this relationship is yet to be seen. Whodatdog pointed it out the best, this will not help holders of lessor quality domains, and higher quality domains will supposedly always have value and therefore buyers be it iReit or JoeDomainer.

Liquidity will happen when domains join mainstream investing, we are still very specialized, iReit could help make a short term difference.

I was hoping for iReit to buy my best ones. Unfortunately, they might be

they are mostly revenue names for parking, but I think they will buy others (developed) too. They will do a traffic test with your names and pay x month revenue.

This is a solid first round pickup for iReit. Adam will add considerable experience to an already veteran squad.

This team has the veteran leadership to continue to thrive; however, in the second round, they will need to add some youth to help spur innovation.

The neat thing about taking on Adam is the broader perspective IREIT might gain. Any business enterprise is only as strong as its people and typically each person brings something unique to the table. Fresh talent and fresh ideas keep the ball rolling. Innovate or risk going stale is a fair statement.
