This story was featured in the Domaining.com newsletter and the headline was something like "DNForum shutting down". Until I clicked the link and saw it was DG it felt like my life was being torn apart.

I just hear on the news that a bunch of Domainers will file civil lawsuit for emotional damage due to false information from the site:

Theo did not write this article. I was the writer of this article. As a matter of fact, Theo did not even know I was publishing it. I am Giovanni "Crazee" Mossolini.

DomainGang nor myself did not mean to stir up trouble, only to point out that Adam was the VP of GoDaddy, that GoDaddy had the ridiculous 60 day rule implemented for every reason under the sun and that most perks promised to exclusive DNF members have seemed to disappear.

In addition, it was posted as a spoof of this post.

My thoughts...

I have been tricked a couple times myself before realizing the disclaimer. I suppose that is the point to a degree or why bother but there is a serious issue that needs to be considered.

Some even may not ever discover the disclaimer and rumors spread, damge done, real damage. Out of respect for the community as a whoe I suggest this type of humor is ended. Not saying other industries of other blogs/sites do not do the same but this industry is a close knit one, we do not need bad press or individual reputations toyed with, disclaimer or not.

I believe Theo is just a fun guy looking for a laugh and he is getting one most times, problem is the times he is not. Personally if my name was involved I would not be please at all, it takes years to build a reputation and protecting it is very important. It is not open to be traded for a laugh or shock factor.
