2011 Changes Coming to dnforum.com
First of all, Happy New Year to everyone.
Secondly, below are some changes that you will see and hopefully welcome in 2011.
1) server upgrades coming in January to increase speed and performace.
We will be going from 2 servers to 3 with major hardware upgrades. --------- Done!
2) Zero tolerance for people that post sold in a thread and do not follow through with the sale.
We cannot help with sales through pm's so make sure they post sold in threads. --------- Done!
3) To better serve you we will be adding two new moderators to be named later.
4) As PPC continues to fall, new sections will open up to focus more on PPS ( Pay Per Sale ) and PPA ( Pay Per Action ).
5) A bigger focus on getting you valuable information regarding the top affiliate programs that will suit your niche domains.
6) No tm's will be permitted to be listed on the forum. --------- Done!
7) We will enforce a password change every 120 days to protect you and your dnforum account. --------- Done!
8) We will start to consolidate subforums that have little traffic.
9) A new fresh look that will make DNF look clean crisp and almost High Definition. --------- Done!
I am also open to any suggestions you have to make our forum better in 2011.

I would also like to see a better notification regarding notifications...perhaps red flag, etc.
i'm looking forward to the improvments. thanks.
i'm looking for resume related domains please pm me.
I hate to have to admit it but I will simply as feedback.... I'm not at all looking forward to #7.... It used to be very annoying when we did this here in the past. I remember this forum being one of the few that did it and it interferes with my password system I have in my mind for recalling important places. When I change it here, there is an additional step I take... Anyone smart changes their passwords from time to time anyway. Looking forward to the rest of the list though.
What about looking into live auctions? Promoting a Domain Swap? Domain trades for Development/logos etc..., Fostering more Partnership opportunities among members, Promoting an active Investor club at different levels.

Secondly, below are some changes that you will see and hopefully welcome in 2011.
- it was very much required lately in nov /dec.
- although not a seller much, but what so many threads opened with disputes on sales, definitely a wonderful initiative..2) Zero tolerance for people that post sold in a thread and do not follow through with the sale.
We cannot help with sales through pm's so make sure they post sold in threads.
- yes, DNF in coming years will need more with the ever going trust it keeps building among the fellow domainers and users!3) To better serve you we will be adding two new moderators to be named later.
-4) As PPC continues to fall, new sections will open up to focus more on PPS ( Pay Per Sale ) and PPA ( Pay Per Action ).
- i need it!5) A bigger focus on getting you valuable information regarding the top affiliate programs that will suit your niche domains.
- Although do not have any TM Disputed domains, but are they really that legally complex to handle that we sdhould totally go away with them.. how to knwo each domain listed is not a TM infr.. i dont know how it's gonna work!!6) No tm's will be permitted to be listed on the forum.
- oh god! now forgot password will have the highest PPC7) We will enforce a password change every 120 days to protect you and your dnforum account.
- honestly, do we require it. DNF has very much well categorized certain sections. i will suggest, let it be like this only... unless looking at RPM logic and all8) We will start to consolidate subforums that have little traffic.
- wow! hope it does not change the way we use.. adaptability is one thing that keeps the user coming back... hope it will not be a drastic one!!9) A new fresh look that will make DNF look clean crisp and almost High Definition.

Can you add zero tolerance on the flip side...where buyer posts sold and then the seller decides not to sell? That happened to me and I just did not want to bother with the bad TR trading.
Happy new year and the changes & improvements will be great.

Nice suggestion
As Onward says, please add zero tolerance the other way around as well (seller backing out of deals).
Looking forward to the server upgrade and the stricter rules! DNF is and will always be the only forum for serious domainers.
It can really help reducing those threads, where people post names that are stolen. Sometime you may participate in those threads, and might lose money, so I think its a good idea, which should be implemented in my opinion to reduce those kind of threads, and preventing you from losing potential money and most importantly TIME!
Almost every dictionary word has some obscure TM in the world. Does this mean we can no longer find dictionary word dot-coms on DNForum?![]()

Some good changes, thanksAnd I'd definitely agree that rule 2 should go both ways and thus protect/cover both buyers and sellers.
8 is - IMO - a great change too since some subboards are completely dead ( > Content Development > Social Networking and Syndication > XML, zero posts in over 2 years, etc). Sometimes having a smaller number of boards can help to increase activity since no-one likes to post in a dead board. But if a few low traffic/dead subboards are combined, this can help to promote activity since the relative activity is higher.
