My wife and I are in the mortgage business and she wanted this name..thinks its cute (women) , i dont like it ..to long in my opiinon, all i can find on its history is

now on overture its not there but mortgage is so i can work with that with title and keywords but is this a good alexa report or nay?

You should probably mention that the domain is mortgagemadesimple.com - since the URL truncates and it's not obvious without clicking

It's memorable. If you do radio advertising and you want to use "Mortgage Made Simple" as your business name it is perfect. Otherwise it is a little on the long side.

yea.. ha..Ii can hear the commercial now..maybe throw in a plug for this forum since everyone is so helpful here, but my main question is what is considered a good alexa rating (number wise) and on some ratings of sites theres a graph below and alot of data, but with my domain theres is nothing...does that mean its been down for a long time?

A mortgage company such as yours is a click-and-mortar business. Hybrid companies that must exist in cyberspace AND tangible reality require names that are both easy to type AND reputable. I think Mortgage Made Simple is an excellent way to accomplish this. It sounds natural (as though the name were selected first THEN the domain was purchased to match it, not the other way around, which is too often the case for .com companies), and although a bit long for a .com, a very comfortable length for a business name.

As for search engine marketing, this can be accomplished with any domain name. You have a good keyword (mortgage) so you are bit better off than some fabricated brand that means little or nothing.

The Alexa rating just means that there has been a decent amount of traffic in the past. The number for that domain is not very high - but if you consider that there was not really a real site there in the past - it means that there has been *some* traffic.

It's a good sounding name, however, I think the plural would be better..mortgagesmadesimple.com

Really? see I like it just mortage better but thats opinion and honestly thats secondary to me right now because to be honest I am not even sure that would be our name..could just be a redirect url or a dummy page to market our main site... my main thing is that I am trying to get an answer on from someone here is: Is 3,900,000 a good alexa rating?

3,900,000 isn't much traffic. 500,000 on Alexa approximates to about 10,000 unique visitors a month.

If 500,000 equates to 10,000 unique visitors a month, then 3,900,000 means 80,000 unique visitor a month. Is that considered "not much traffic"?

alexa rating is meaningless, its worked out from people who have there tool bar installed and visit sites, my site has 136,428 and out of all the sub domains and the actual domain the total uniques are about 500 a month, its got such a good ranking because i visit my sites alot each day and i have the tool bar installed
