anyone ever done a 301 redirect in cPanel?

not sure what option to choose:

www redirection:

• - Only redirect with www.
• - Redirect with or without www.
• - Do Not Redirect www.
• - Wild Card Redirect

I went with the default which was 'redirect with or without the www' but it did not work.

add a .htaccess file

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.domain\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.com/$1 [L,R=301]

this will redirect http://domain.com to http://www.domain.com in htaccess file.
