    Banned Site

    Hi,

I have a site which I run as an amazon affiliate for 6 months or so, amazing revenue for 3 months, then complete drop off.

This is due to being dropped, well actually put much lower in google search engine rankings. This is due to duplicate content, which google doesnt like.

Question is this :- Anybody got any tips/tricks to get the site back into google, the amazon site is no longer running, its just a PPC template with unique content (Bought here)

The site is No1 in MSN UK search, for main keyword search, but nowhere in google.

Anybody know how long google penalises a site for duplicate content?

I am doing normal work of building links, and unique content.

    Thanks.

    Re: Banned Site

    Do this:

Request reinclusion of a site that has violated the webmaster guidelines

Complete this form if you reviewed your site, found that it violated our webmaster guidelines, and you have made changes to your site so that it adheres to the guidelines. We will evaluate your site to determine if it is currently penalized and if the site no longer violates our guidelines.

Note that this process may take some time. Allow several weeks for evaluation.

    Re: Banned Site

Using copied content wont get your site banned by Google as far as I know, it just will hurt the rankings. Therefore, if you take the duplicated content off the site and replace it with unique content your rankings will improve.

    Re: Banned Site

I did this a few months ago, I get traffic from google but now a lot. Site used to be No1 in UK search for gadget, its nowhere now. Perhaps it will recover over time.
