    what i am looking for is ideas / comments on the best way to get noticed on Net

    Laskos use some of your amassed DNF's to get some PR5 links, Jeanco's site is PR5 so he could do some good for your website in getting it noticed. Advertise in the DNF section, offer a few hundred dnf's for a link on a PR5 site. Then let the search engines do the rest!
