I've seen those offers around where they say you can buy traffic, I dont know how they work, but they're ment to send a number of vistiors over. Has anyone ever tried these offers? Do they work? Or are they too good to be true?
Matt

Depends what you mean by "buying traffic." Buying traffic is a legitimate business, but like any business there are companies out there that try to take advantage of it.
If the price seems "too good to be true", check the reputation and customer reviews of the company, to start with. A simple Google search usually does the trick for me.

I think "buy traffic" is only a fact to improve the web.
Content is king
I will never buy traffic.. it's better off bid on low frequency keywords on google and overture. When you buy traffics, you got no idea where did the visitors come from. Are they real visitors or a fake visitors which is generated by gathering different IP address from various proxy server and then send it to your website. It happens! Bid on keyword and buy ads on large website is the best
Well i think there a lot traffic exchanges sites you can try. some of them are auto traffic , some of them are manual traffic. Depend on what kind of traffic you need.

I think that you can also try to compare the prices of PPC for some keywords with the offer you're considering. If the offer is much cheaper than some PPC rates, it can mean the traffic is probably not what you would like to get.
It's always something nice to get XX thousands of impressions, but when people are completely not interested in your site, it will not be worth any money. And like other members say, if the traffic supplier is backed by some huge names (ad networks, services, sites), it's always more reliable and there's less risk of investment.
You can buy traffic, but the question is will it be "quality traffic?"
I think it's much better to exchange links with sites with similair content then to buy traffic.

Profoundly influenced by #Bauhaus, @Nameslave unrepentantly embraces #Minimalism in his #multimedia portfolio. His early works include an experimental adaptation of Chekhov’s Cherry Orchard inspired at least partly by Robert Fripp. His totally irrelevant M.Ed. dissertation examines Organizational Culture and Change Management.
buying web traffic is a crappy way to try and pad your webstats. It is sniffed out by any good buyer when you try and sell a domain or website since any good buyer will first look at unique visitors then at the referal stats to see where these unique visitors are coming from. traffic exchanges or sites that sell traffic always show up in the referal section - unless they use proxies, which should show a person what kind of a business they are (pretty pathetic if they want to hide where their people are coming from).
Getting quality traffic has to be done the old fashion way, through hard work. You can't buy that kind of traffic through paypal...if you could, we would all be having a similar conversation on the beach in the south pacific sippin' on Mi-Ti's.

I think there is one reasonable way of buying traffic, i.e., domain typos redirecting. Lets say you own a web Hosting site, and know of a web-hosting typo domain getting good traffic. I think buying or renting that name for redirecting is a reasonable way of getting traffic.
In any case, I would like to hear your responses.
