Did mass submission work for you?

Ive seen alot of those submit to thousands and thousands of directorys/search engines, has any one ever tried this and did they work?

they work but just 1% cuz most of the directories are not registered with search engines so u wont get your link popularity increased

The problem is that any search engines worth submitting to requires some form of submission authentication, to prevent exactly that sort of thing. ;-)

Don't use bulk submissions!
Some SE's will ban your site for their use.
There are really only a few SE's worth submitting to, do it manually.
Or even better, put a link to your new site on another site that is crawled frequently by G, and you should be indexed in a few weeks to a month.

Submitting to SE's usually will get you nowhere and is a waste of time.

However, there are paid and unpaid directories that can benefit you.

Don't bother with paid submissions that promise thousands of submissions. Even sponsored listings are pratically useless unless you're bidding for a spot on Goole, Yahoo or MSN.

Just make sure that you are listed on a couple of top search engines (most other SEs get their results from them), e.g. Google, Yahoo, MSN and Teoma.

There are many free submission services available out there. Infact I also have one on my site (see sig).

bid on ovt spots.. i did and im getting alot of traffic from it. not to mention only paying for certain keywords and phrases until im ranked #1 without the ovt for that keyword or phrase and them im moving on to others.. traffic has been solid lately
