Some days ago I started the task to create a list of directories that would worth to submit to.
I started fine, but I ended with a list of more than 200 directories :(, no kidding.
So, I really want to get an opinion on what you'd think are the ten most desirable directories that worth the time/money to submit to, regardless free or not.
Here is my list, trying to do setup a relevance order
dir.yahoo.com
www.dmoz.org
www.business.com
www.bluefind.com
www.uncoverthenet.com
www.sevenseek.com
www.joeant.com
www.gimpsy.com
www.goguides.org
www.zeal.com
Which is yours ?

There have been a few discussed over at seoguy.com, I'll try to find the URLs..Originally Posted by DotComGod
It's also been discussed that a sudden increase in paid links (Google labels it something like un-natural linking) could possibly cause penalties in the Google SERPs and other engines (they seem to only catch it when people submit to tons of the common paid directories at once.) How they determine what a "paid link" is, nobody knows outside the gates of the googleplex.. Its sure a good idea to dig deep if you are going to spend a large sum submitting to a ton of directories at once (if increasing your search engine referrals is the goal.)
Curious of others thoughts on this ?
